Uh oh, here it comes!!!! (A "Magilla" of his own) I remember I was excited when Fred's little appleseeds dropped. Well, they are no longer appleseeds. They are now apples!! (a little exaggerated) Good lord, they are huge! He's been humping everything in sight, including his favorite orange plush BONE! Soon enough, Fred will have a "Magilla" of his own (just like Cheri) and I'm hoping it's not my leg. The other day, he was laying on my bed and I'm sitting casually on YorkieTalk. I hear him panting and I turn around only to find that he gathered a corner of the blanket and started doing his "dance". I couldn't help but crack up, it was hilarious! If only I had a camera. I need to get him neutered, but I am afraid he might get sick. I've heard so many horror stories. :( |
Aw - how cute, little Fred is going through puberty!! LOL I feel your pain - Tucker's going through the same thing, except he isn't using a stuffed bone or a blanket - he's using Biddy!!! And Biddy doesn't seem to mind (which makes me look a little differently at my princess). Good luck! |
neutering Do you know I have never lost a male or female during a spay/neuter? I have never had one get an infection or get sick...I know it can happen, but with a good vet..(I would talk to a serious breeder for a recommendaation) reasonable care it is a very safe surgery..best wishes |
I worked at a vet clinic for two years and I never experienced 1 dog get sick or die from being altered. It's a very simple procedure and you have nothing to worry about. Get him neutered ASAP so that those bad behaviors do not become habitual and before any accidents occur. Plus the longer you wait the more chance he has of really becoming sick because of testicular cancer and all that horrible stuff. |
I am gonna get Chachi neutered this month. I have read of the risk of cancer if they are intact so that is a consideration also. I am not really worried about the surgery it is so routine with the vets. |
I agree that it is safe. Just make sure ahead a time that your vet uses Isoflorane (sp?) and not any type of barbituates (sp?). Sorry...I am an horrid speller! :( And also make sure that they have a tube small enough to use on you babies tiny throat. Any spay/neuter horror stories that I have heard involved the owner not asking these questions. Just rememeber that even though it will be upsetting to you to see them go in for surgery...it is in their best interest if you aren't breeding them. Plus they will forget it ever happened in a few days anyway. :D I don't regret for a second getting Sydney spayed. It has made her a much sweeter and loving pet...plus I don't have to worry about ovarian cancer! |

You need to get him a humping buddy. Scooter protects this humping buddy with his life. He has a fit if anyone touches MR Humper. |
Yep, grab a pillow! I had Alley neutered at 6 months. I'm glad I did because he had two baby teeth that needed some help getting out and they were able to take care of that too. I did it on a Friday over Easter weekend and he was up and playing around by Sunday night. He also loves his "funky dunky" pillow too! At least it's that and not everything or everyone else!!! :lol tears |

Oh man. Or perhaps, they could be swinger Yorkies and trade off partners? Hahah! Yes, I do need a camera. I want to take pictures of Fred so badly but I am in the poor house right now. I'd have to wait a few more weeks for my paychecks to accumulate. |
I have only seen my male hump when My female was in heat. And im so glad about this. My daughters female humps all the time lol. |
Quoted..."If only I had a camera" Oh no, is there no privacy anymore? LOL :D My daughter's new Chihuahua female began holding a toy butterfly and humping the side top of her bed. I had to grab my daughter watching her totally cracking up that this is NORMAL doggie behavior and that there was nothing wrong with her new puppy. And well, Schatzie being in heat for almost two weeks now is trying to have sex with anything that moves. However as of about 5 minutes ago she just woke up from surgery being spayed today. Happy to say, surgery went just fine. So, Natalie, no worries on a neutering surgery for your little Fred. |
Glad your baby is okay! You always feel better when you know they are okay. :) |
..."his dance" haha!!! That's a great one Natalie! LOL. When Sully was neutered, the vet said that he was the smoothest, easiest case she'd done all month! All smiles, no complications and a fast recovery. I think the neuter is harder on us "mommies" than it is on our babies b/c I just cried, but Sully was just fine! |
