Doing GREAT!!!
 
OK most of you know that tucker is being trained to be a service dog. :) well, today i really buckled down and started with his training. he is doing amazing!! thanks to socalyorkilvr for giving me some tips and being so helpful through the whole thing!! :thumbup: but she told me to try doing it right before meal time so he's hungry and will respond to treats. also to do it with his leash on so he has to bring back the object. :rolleyes: i did both of those things and he's doing amazing!! he'll get what ever i throw and he gives it back. i started with the leash and now we are at the point where he can do it with out the leash!!!! :D I am so happy!! i was getting a little worried because he wasn't responding at all, :rolleyes: now he's doing amazing!!! i'm going to do this for a little while everyday until he really understands. :thumbup: I think he'll be a great service dog soon enough!! :D thank you everyone on YT for the encouragement all along the way, and a special thanks to socalyorkilvr for all the great help/advice the whole time!! :p YOU GUYS ROCK! :cool:

Oh Megan...you don't need to thank me...you are doing all the work and it does sound like he is doing fabulously! Congratulations. All it takes a little extra time and effort and I am sure he is happy to please you. You are so dedicated to makint this happen and that is why it is. Great job! Keep up the good work! :thumbup:

That's great! Just remember to stay patient & be consistant. (my 2 biggest mistakes!!). Good luck & keep up the good work!

Megan has the patience of a saint! When we got our lab, Rusty, he was over a year old. She worked with him all of the time and taught him to sit, come, stay, roll over, play dead, cover (his nose), high five, and I've probably forgotten a few! When she puts her mind to it there is no stopping that girl!

I can surely feel your excitement on the progress that Tucker is making. I am thrilled for the both of you. Especially you for making the time to work so much with him. I also think it is so wonderful to see SoCalYorkiLvr helping you out so much. I find it awesome to see Yorkie Talk members working so close together to make our Yorkie's the best possible.

thanks everyone. by the way mom you did forget some ;) he also knows take a bow, sit up, jump, hug, say hi, and he can play patty cake. lol. thanks again everyone!! you are all awsome! i don't know what i would have done with out you!

:( My Tucker is kind of a dummy. He's a really good boy, but he can't do anything! We've tried and tried, but he just doesn't get it! Most of the time we just wind up laughing at him! Good job Megan!

awww don't say that i'm sure deep down he's a little genius!!! most of the tricks tucker leanred i didn't really start teaching him. like the other day i was trying to teach him to sit up. i stook up and just moved my finger a certain way. i had the treat and when i did that he jumped up and did a turn/flip/twist thing in the air. i've now trained him whenever i do that with my finger thats what he has to do. so let him train himself and just go with what ever he does. good luck!! even if he never learns, he's still ADORALBE!!!
