first of all let me just say:welcome4: I dont really have any advice except he is still a puppy and maybe he will grow out of it but I'm sure you will get plenty of helpful advice from our other great members! |
We had that problem with Penny. Not toes so much but fingers and face. We just said very sternly "No bite". She still has her moments but for the most part when we say it she will stop. It is probably just them being puppies. Penny is 3 mos. now. |
aah , she is just a Baby, Rosi was a toebiter too and she outgrew it . Just keep saying no bite... and give her a toy or a safe chewy toy !;) Welcome to YT ! :D |
Beamer was anipper when he was little. The best way I stopped him was to put about 10 pennies in an empty soda can and when he would bite, shake the can and say NO BITE.. he always stopped. Then give him a toy that he CAN bite. Good luck Oh and welcome to YT |
You have to treat this behavior like a felony. The second he bites, you stand up and turn your back to him. Completely ignore him for 60 seconds. Then return to whatever it was that you were doing. Eventually, he will get the idea that biting results in no attention from you, and that is the last thing he wants! FYI, my puppy school teacher says that there are to be no off leash/house/bed/furniture privileges until the puppy no longer mouths/bites, is fully house trained and no longer jumps up on you or other people. Until then, any attention he gets is from the floor. You can sit on the floor and hold him in your lap if he is being good. |
We sprayed bitter apple on our hands and feet and after a couple times of biting them he quit. They also outgrow the biting stage |
