Im' very frustrated Nico peed under my kitchen table two times today. So I took your advice cleaned it up and that was it. So tonight I took him out in the street, he peed four times, once was very long. Took him back in he ran around and the peed under the table again. And to boot, he knew he did it, he went a sat on a pillow on the floor and just looked at me. It seems to me that he does it out of spite. I am really getting crazy with this whole peeing thing. Do they pee less when they are fixed? He is getting done on Monday. |
What are you cleaning it up with? Maybe it isn't pulling the urine smell out. Good luck, I know potty training can be frustrating. |
I do not know if this will work for you but, we have found that Spic Span Sun Fresh seems to confuse our puppies. It really helped to get them house broke. We have wood floors. Hope this helps. |
I do not think they will urinate to 'spite' us... I thought they used poop to do that... as in they will poop on your bed or in your closet when they are upset with you... ...or am I all deluded? Hang in there, they will learn in time! I know it is frustrating. We are dealing with issues here as well! |

A friend had a Maltese that would poop on her bed if she left him alone at home.lol. It does take time and lots of patients. Sheilagh |
Good luck and be patient. Sometimes it takes months. Just be sure to get the smell out. |
Smokey never stopped....he would go outside but then would go inside too...then he started marking everywhere....so we wear belly bands....as for the poop....most of the time it is on the rug under my diningroom table....so at least you know where not to step without looking.....and he is a free feeder so there is no schedule to when he poops.....he will still go outside and pee and poop but he goes inside too.....so he probably will never be fully housetrained...oh well i love him and i will just do what i have to... |
Do you think maybe he's marking? Is he neutered? Maybe that would help, otherwise I'd say just keep up the training and hopefully he'll catch on. Bellybands might help. |
I had a Maltese that was not neutered and peed on everything until he passed at 16. |
Make sure you clean the area where he peed with something that will removed the odor (vinegar works well.) Then place a dish with a little food on it and put it where he is going under the table. They say a pet will not go where their food is. Leave a small amount of food there at all times. Let me know if this works for you. |

Cooper ? I have a 16 month old that has been with me for about 2 months. He stays in a crate during the day while im working, and is really good about it. When I get home I take him out and he does well BUT in between times I take him out it is not unusual for me to find he has peed on one of my carpets!!! I use enzime cleaner, but he really doesnt seem to pick a spot he just pees randomly.. But he can stay in his crate up to 9 hours and will not do anything in there. I have seen a lot about belly bands here, but have never heard of them . Cooper is fixed but the first male dog I have ever owned. Do the belly bands persuade them to not pee in the house? Do you take them off just when they are going outside? Do they actually help in training ? |
Pee Nico was so good for a week, peeing and pooping on the paper, today pooped under the kitchen table and peed under the table. Also he pooped and peed before that on the paper. Go figure. |
Here are a few sites that sell belly-bands. The first two I think are YT members. Someone else might be able to add some other YT members that sell belly-bands. http://www.mygofetch.com/ http://litlbitwraps.wahmweb.com/store/WsDefault.asp? I wish I could help, but I'm having the same housetraining problem. Logan is 7 1/2 months old and still is not housetrained. His problem is pooping in the house, although last night for the first time he peed on the carpet! |
