G.r.o.s.s. - Actually the grossiest.... Hubby has a cabinet shop out back...invites his shop dogs  to join him. Thirty minutes or so....a commotion...seems two ratter (literally) yorkies and two kitty brothers have a kill in the yard....with Ramsey the possessor of one dead RAT. :fainted: Reese asking excitedly....:yay_jump: wet me touch it, Wams, wet me :yay_jump: Mom feeling a little ill...desiring yorkie kisses a WHOLE lot less....:sickie: and so grossed out...I thought I'd share this story with you...LOL. PS Will mouth wash hurt dogs???? :D |
ooooooh, that is so nasty! I'd be looking for some mouthwash too!!! These little guys never cease to amaze me. |
awww we had a similar experience one thanksgiving with our collie mix. everything was going great till i noticed she had an oppossum (sp?) cornered. She proceeded to catch it in her mouth, crack all of its ribs (really loudly btw) and swish it back and forth until it was pronounced dead. then she brought it over to me all smiles like "look mommy, i helped" EEEEWWWWWWW she had blood on her snout (from the corpse) and all. needless to say dessert was not served immediately after. |
Go Ramsey! Good job! It sounds like the Terrier Terrors were on patrol in the workshop! The only thing that is scary is that rats carry such nasty diseases! No puppy kisses for a while :) |
awwwwwwwww they did good!!!! :D yeah...I would be shying away from the kisses for a bit :( little stinkers!!!!! |
Wouldn't Reece's ancestors be proud of him? Sometimes I think that there can't be another weird/scary/funny story about these Yorkies we all adore that will top the last one I've just read. But there always is.:D I love Yorkie kisses, too, but.........I don't know how soon I'd forget the sight of a rat in my furbaby's mouth. |
yuuuck! :D |
Eeeeewwwwww!!!! Sounds like a long toothbrushing is in order, followed by some PetzLife gel!!!!! |
they need a teef brushing!! THere doing their job though! |
I would be scared to death of rabies (opossum) and other vermin carried diseases. I would absolutely die if Sassy caught one. It's bad enough when the feral cats catch them and leave them around here and there in the yard. Yipes!!!! |
:tongue036 :sickie: :sickie: :sickie: :tongue036 [Bleh, I think I'm going to be sick... I don't do well with rodents and such; just knowing they are around (when we had them in the house; (mice that is) or seeing one; even outside, just makes me cringe. The thought of one of my babies dropping a mouse, much less a rat, would have me running for cover! I remember Alfie catching garden snakes in our backyard and shaking them back & forth, them come up to me with a wet (what I consider, slimy) muzzle and I'd even have to get hubby just to wipe his mouth clean. Just grosses me out! |

Rusty has killed one field mouse and caught another on Thursday-but it got away when I asked what he had in his mouth. Rusty's instincts take over when we are outside. The grossest thing I have ever seen was a slug that got thick, goopy, stuff all over Rusty's muzzle and it would not come off! Daddy could not even get it off. It was terrible! Rusty finally got it off by eating it. (there were no yorkie kisses for a long, long, long time after that) Yuck. |
eeewwwww puking smilie here! And I'm sure they were so proud of themselves too! I can so picture Reese wanting to "share" with Ramsey. And her going nah nah! I caught it and you didn't. YUCK! |
Not sure if mouth wash will hurt them or not, but I'd be concerned if the rat was actually killed with some sort of poison, if so, you yorkie could be at risk. |
