walking question.... hello everyone..i am still new to the site and have been doing ALOT of reading...u guys are AMAZING !!!!! i have not read about anyone talking about the show the DOG WHISPERER(i am assuming u all know the show)...i have recently taken some advice from the show...for about the last 3 weeks i have been walking my sweet Maggie (5 months old) at least once a day, twice if the weather allows..for about 20 mins at a time.. my question to you all is how r ur babies walking for u??? r they pulling on the leash?? stopping to chew and play??walking to ur side?? i have found Maggie seems more content, relaxed and not constantly crying at the door to go out and play..just looking to see how others r doing with their walks...thanks all !!! |
Scooter walks really well on the leash; however, I don't really like to walk him by myself because with all the kidnapping going on, I'm afraid someone will try to take him. I'd have to really hurt someone then!:D |

My Baby really loves to go for walks. He took to it right away. He walks along beside me on a loose lead but will kind of wander off and switch sides if something catches his eye. For 13 weeks he's doing really well. I'm so proud of him :D We have tons of snow and really bad weather right now here in Maine so we can't get out to often or for to long but we can't wait for Spring! |
You're walking with a harness right?? |
:animal37 :animal37 :animal37 I walk my three every chance I get (wheather permitting, not for them but for me - LOL), Chewy the eldest and biggest of my dogs pulls like crazy and I've bought him a special harness which helps a lot, while the other two are great walkers, they walk by my side and are well behaved. And when we do get to go for walks they are much more relaxed and easy going. When we don't go for walks they tend to fight amongst themselves (too much energy!!) |

I try and try and try and Lucy just doesn't like taking walks. If we are out of town she will go out to do her business on a leash but other than that she likes her back yard. Welcome :) |
Remi and I walk one to two miles per day, weather permitting. He walks using a harness leash when he is permitted "playtime". Otherwise he has been attending dog school obedience training and walks heel with his special collar and leash. |

I have never heard of someone kidnapping a Yorkie on a walk. Is this something that has been happening lately? |
Hot Rod loves to go for walks and weather permitting, we go everyday. He tends to wander in front, back and side. He gets distracted quickly. We have a bunch of other dogs here (I think he can smell them inthe air) and then we have tons of deer around and I know he can smell them. Sometimes he walks really fast to where we start trotting and then running. We start puppy school in a week so hopefully he will learn to not pull on the leash so much. |
