when i brought kash home, my friend drove my car for me and i sat in the passenger seat with kash in my lap. the drive was 2 hrs. he was great. he didn't cry or throw up or anything.

I agree, in the lap is more comforting for both of you. I find they will just curl up and go to sleep.

The crate, safty belted is the safest, the only way I will travel with my furbabies.:)

I had a 6 hr drive from florida to tn with andy (and fuss if you want ladies I love my babies) He was in my lap the whole way and all he did was lay his head nestled in my chest and slept. But he also hates anything to do with a crate or carrier but he is good and quiet in a purse. But in the end advice is advice and it ur baby and ur choice I hope u make the one u feel best about. Just follow ur instinct

Take a couple of towels with you incase he gets sick during the ride.

all of my dogs have been with me.. not in a crate.. that huge bonding comes right from that moment where you are making them feel secure.. but as far as safety goes it is better in a crate.. I follow my heart, not my head...:eek:

Yes, we just brought him home today:clapsmile I put him in a soft carrier on my lap and was able to pet him/touch him the whole ride home. This way he was able to move about some but he settled down and fell asleep after a bit. I'll introduce him in a new thread as soon as I figure out how to post pics.

BoozhersMama__He's a Bentley, too. His name is Scooter Bentley Barber. I wanted Bentley, hubby wanted Scooter. Thanks for the very kind words.

Ha! Bentley I love the name Bentley!! I picked his name out of a baby name book. My ex-husband wanted to name him LEROY!

Bentleys full name is Bentley Artaine.

I'm hoping to get a little girl soon. :)
