I need sympathy
 
My daughter announced that she is going to be ready to move to ATL in early APril and she is taking Mika with her, because after all, Mika is HER dog. I know you will all say "Oh well just get your own yorkie", but it's not that simple.

With my daughter here and working nearby, she could come home for Mika Mid-day, adn the crate thing did not seem so terrible. One of my own would have to stay in there far too long. (daycare not an option, I live paycheck to paycheck, and I am still paying for Mika).

I travel a lot, and most of this is international where I can't take the dog with me. Having my daughter and Mika as a package deal was perfect, as I could have the love of a yorkie, and my daughter was there (no huge kennel bills, not that I would want my baby on one of those long anyway).

But now I will be daughterless, and yorkieless :cry:

Anddddddddddddd I told the daughter last night that I will have to leave yt because I won't qualify anymore :cry:

You don't have to have a Yorkie to come here....only to do the gift exchange.

You don't have to leave YT at all!! You will be a Yorkie Grandma!! I was on her for like 9 months before I got my Yorkie! This is a great place to be for people without Yorkies because you get to learn allll kinds of info before you take on the responsibility! Yorkie Talk is for Yorkie lovers, not just owners!!

I am sorry about your news, buttt I don't think that you don't qualify anymore. Your still a G-ma!!! I sure hope you stay, at least you have a place that you can come to and look, read, and have a group of wonderful people to come to! :hug:

You can definitely STILL do the gift exchange!! You have a grand-Yorkie to do it for! Just because she doesn't live in your house, doesn't mean you don't still love her!!

Oh, you have my sympathy, that's a very difficult problem. Have you thought about moving too? You never have to leave YT, to be a member here all you have to do is care about dogs. What's ATL?

Yall think I'm going to be able to stand it??? All the sweet pictures and missing her so....I thought giving Kaya up was hard enough.

I'm going to let you guys in on a little secret. I didn't worry about this much, because I thought my daughter wasn't going to be able to pull this off, but dang she's doing it.

I can't move, two more years to do before retirement and an elderly uncle to look after.

Well number 1...don't leave YT. We'll be here for you when you need a shoulder or need to vent. That's what family does and this is a big family. I feel your pain. There is just something special about having a daughter around. Mine is leaving next week. She and her 2 girls have been living with us for 6 years and she is finally getting married to a wonderful guy but we are sure gonna miss them. At least we will still have Murfee and they won't be too far away. Just don't leave!!

oh no, you dont have to leave YT!!! You have a yorkie heart and that counts! :) Im sorry to hear that your daughter is moving away. I had a similar situation only opposite, my mom moved away! and took her babies with her! I miss her and her dogs very much, we lived only a mile away from each other and I took my boys to her house all the time to run around her fenced in yard! so although I was not left yorkieless, I was left momless :( (((HUGS))) to you!

I'm so sorry for you to hear this sad news. It is going to be so hard and lonely, and you will need all of us, so don't you dare leave. Sending big hugs to you. I feel so bad for you.
