I finally got a car seat!!!! and have a question So I have been meaning to get a car seat for both Benj and Bella for a while now but I had to save for the wedding and they are quite expensive. Well I was able to save up the rest of the money I needed so I had a little left from my tax returns. I got the Snoozer my buddy. They have them on sale right now at petco.com so I got it for like $130 shipped. We just got it in last night. I am super excited to try it out on our road trip to Alabama this weekend. The pups looked like they already liked it. I just have a question. How do you attach those black pieces that you hook their harness to? I could not figure it out. I was thinking maybe through the seat belt but I really have no clue. Thanks! |
Yup, I put those black straps on the seatbelt. I also used a big safety pin on the underside to secure them so they don't slide around:D |
that's correct. It goes around the seat belt. congratulations on the purchase . . . |
I hook mine around the seatbelt and then hook onto Alphys harness. No matter what I do though he always gets out. :( I'm at a loss. Usually he finally wiggles himself out of the harness altogether and does a WWF body slam onto my lap from over the back of my seat. |
Thanks for the info guys! I just wanted to make sure I was doing it right. I looked in the box and I was like "What, no directions" haha. I kind of have a feeling Benji is going to follow in the footsteps of Alphy. Bella wont care. I think she will enjoy the ride more but Benji sure is going to give us a hard time. |
Oh I hope not. You'd think someone was back there trying to kill the little stink pod from all the commotion he makes back there. It's nerve wracking. I put him back there to be safe but my nerves are shot. I almost think it's safer to just leave him on my lap so I don't have to hear him carry on. It's distracting and then when he flips and flops like a fish and flings himself over the side trying to get out I have to stop, fix the buckle. blah blah. I have to be doing something wrong. Once (I think I posted this before) he got out and was half way out the passenger front window before I new it. I grabbed his little stubby tail and rolled him up in the window until I could pull over. I've since learned to put the child window lock on because he can unroll windows :) and they are never more then a quarter inch down when he's in the car. Little sh** :D |

I had trouble with those straps also, and I thought the buckle on them was pretty heavy so I found dogo harnesses. They are a very clever step in harness with an extra bit of lead. I pd about $15 for each harness and bought an extra small clip for each for about .15 cents at lowes. Then I took a thin rope and tied it around the back of the seat with the clips attached and I can just un-hook the leash from the harness and clip them in the seat no problem. No harness change or fuss! I know it sounds like a lot of extra work but it really is simple, and of course I did none of the work it was all my BF!:p I get compliments all the time on the harnesses and they are so safe for our little ones! |
