harnesses guish i miss getting on my puter one day and it took me all evening to read post and still didn't get them all read. LOL ok now the reason I am posting this. At my job sometimes I am not busy and have some time to do 'other things'. I was thinking about the problem some of you have with finding the right size harness for your smaller yorkies. I started crocheting my own and it didn't take long to do it. If you crochet you can make your own and don't even need a pattern to do it. This way you can make it what ever size you want. I will post a picture tomorrow if any one is interested in trying it. |
That's smart! Custom fit clothes always make it better and I'm sure you can save a bundle by doing it yourself. |
that is a good idea............ but i found that the "x-small" harness at petsmart fit toby really well when he was about 3 lbs........ and its adjustable so it will proabbly fit him as an adult too........... i think it waas only $5 |
I'm learning how to crochet, but I'm not having much luck. I am interested in directions only if they're easy! Also, post pictures! I'm curious to know what they look like! Thanks!! |
Gypsy Rose and Gizzie Chavi had ferrett harnesses when they were tiny, Gizzie has only just grown out of hers ...!! |
Ana, thats a great idea! I never thought about a ferrett harness. Does it fit well? I have to admit that I did look at ferrett beds for Mia. |
I had to get a farrett sweater for my chihuahua peanut, have to turn it up in back so He won't pee on it. but it works. the 10"toz14" fit my little guys and gals. |
1 Attachment(s) this is a picture of what i have done. i am not going to finish this one . i am going to make another one with the snap buckles. junebug it is real easy to do if you know how to single crochet. i will message you with the easy directions. i hope this picture works..never inserted a picture on here before. if it don't work i will appriciate help on this feat. LOL |
junebug, i will have to appoligize. i have to write the pattern. i used a pattern for a collar not a harness. i made the pattern for the harness as i went along. but i will give you the pattern for the collar. it is super simple. cotton thread or cotton yarn depending on how big a dog. hook size to achieve your ending size. D ring and buckle. row 1: chain 6, turn and sc in second chain from hook and each ch to end(5 sc) ch 1, turn.. row 2: (ch 1 of previous row counts as first sc) sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.(5 sc).. row 3: repeat row 2 until peice is approx 2 inches long. crochet the (Dring) into the next row of single crochet stitches. ch 1, turn. repeat row 2 until dog collar is desired length. finish off and weave in ends securely. attaching the buckle: on the starting end of the collart (closest to the D ring), insert the end into the buckle and loop it under, sew into place. this would be easy to add beads to also just remember to put the beads on the thread before you begin and add where you want them. this is so easy to do. i will try to write down the direction on how to create the halter. |
Thanks, IDenise!!! The instructions seem pretty simple! The harness is perfect! |
