UPDATE!! on my baby being neutered i know you guys are all curious as to what happened... i spoke to my vet tech/nurse a few hours ago.. and THEY DIDN'T NEUTER HIM. they just did a check up.. took some blood.. and they checked his teeth.. and basically they played with him all day.. she told me that they decided to hold off on the neutering til next week because of the baby teeth he still has. i guess they just want to put him under anesthesia once. we'll see what happens next month. hopefully most of his teeth are out by then. i don't have an issue with it.. but i wish that they would have at least told me before!!!! i was walking around that day freaking out telling everyone IN FRONT OF THEM.. that 'oh he just got neutered so we have to be gentle with him' and the vet techs heard me.. and didn't say anything!!! |
YOU think they would have at least called you of the change in plans. Bella is being spayed on 3/12! I know I will be a wreck all day until I hear about how she is doing. That was a lil unthoughtful:rolleyes: |
AHH i could have sworn i typed next MONTH.. not next week.. haha he's getting neutered next MONTH and btw anyone know where my other thread went???? i can't find it anywhere!!!!! =[ |

What will a week do? Usually when they do a spay/neuter they will pull the baby teeth. I know my vet did say that in the case of double teeth they do like to wait until the perm. teeth are pretty set so not to upset them, but waiting a week shouldn't make that much of a difference. Man, I'd be furious if they kept my dog there all day, didn't call to have me pick him up and then told me NOW that they did not neuter him. How old is he? |

he's almost 8 months old!!! wow.. i didn't realize he was so old.. i mean not that he's OLD or anything but i feel like i brought him home last month!!! wow.. how time fliesss |
They can't just decide not to do a surgery and not tell you. Do you really like your vet? Is it the tech that are "out there"? |

Glad you got it all figured out. But someone on your other thread said it seemed like your vet wasn't a very good communicator. And I'd have to agree! I wouldn't be happy if my pup had to sit at the vet's all day for no reason. |
yeah i do think it's the vet's fault.. he was even outside with another patient.. all he did was give me a quick glance and continued to help the other person pick out shampoo or something.. i did think it was weird that he didn't say anything after he NEUTERED my dog.. but it turns out he didn't do anything so it kinda makes sense.. i jus wish they would have told me!! at one point everyone (all the vet techs and the vet and the receptionists) were outside to see us go.. and nobody said anything!! *sigh* don't get me wrong.. he's a good vet.. i just don't know why he didn't tell me what's going on... i really was worried allllll day.. i should have called during the day and asked.. ahh.. it's okay at least i know for next time! i will call as much as i want!! =D |

And as far as the vet not doing the neuter... I would be boiling mad!!! I hate taking away my pups food and water the night before and the morning of... I had to have my dog fast for surgery and they just decided not to do it, and not call me I would be really mad. Not to mention I have cleared my calender for this spay coming up. I know Sadie will not feel well for a few days and I will not be going any where till she is feeling better and I know she is fine. I would find another vet. Why did they keep your dog all day if he hardly had any thing done? It sounds like they got backed up didn't do your dog. :thumbdown |
martini got spayed a few weeks ago and cause shes like 3lbs i was freakin out and yet it all turned out fine thank god...and they pulled 5 teeth can u imagine..anyways my point is its natural to be scared but things will turn out fine |
Prince Lorenzo Neutered Today! My poor little man looks so upset with me! I feel terrible and I was a complete and nervous wreck! Especially when they told me that he has to stay overnight. So when I called to see how his surgery went ,they said he was doing great so of course I asked if he really had to stay there overnight! especially when I know no one can care for him as well as i can, especially if he is just going to be alone in a cage feeling miserable. So they let him come home and he is recuperating very nicely. |
I would be upset about my baby needing to have anesthesia again! This will be added risk and added expense! |
