New to web site
 
Hi we are new here. My Yorkie is the best thing that ever happened to my family. He is smart and cute.

Gus is a Therapy Dog and has been doing the work since he was one year old. Each week we visit the Hospital. Gus goes to the Chemo therapy infusion center and the pediatrics floor to visit the patients. He is well known all over the Hospital... they just love him.
We would love to get to know other Yorkies and their owners.
Gus was also inducted into the Vermont Animal Hall of Fame. Our Avatar Photo was Taken at his awards ceremony. He was given the award for his dedicated and extraodinary work. We just love him to bits.

Hope we meet some nice people here.

Thank for the welcome. I see all of your dogs little faces....so cute. Aren't they a blessing. Such a gift to mankind.

We have also been trying to make apost in the official Yorkie vote for me thread but I can't find the button for making a new topic?? Maybe I don't have that privilage yet?

Gus also came to Seattle with me twice when I traveled for Brain surgery. He was a constant companion. He slept at the foot of my bed all day, each and every day. When I came home he followed me all over the house. He stuck by me when he knew I was really sick. He is my hero. I have unconditional love for him.

Gus' work is very commendable and you must be so very proud.
It takes a lot of hard work on behalf of the dog, but also the owner.

Welcome to YT!! Gus sounds like he is a very special boy! I have a son with Primary Immune Defect and he had to get monthly IV infusions of Gammaglobulin to help his body out since he had no T cells to fight infections. Their was a Therapy dog that would come into the office on Infusion day's and my son was in heaven when he came to his room. It's nice that Gus is able to bring love and joy to those kids he visits:thumbup:

we are so happy to have found this web site. Tell me a little about your Yorkies.
I have been thinking of getting another one. I looked at Gus' baby photos and yerned for another baby. hee heeeee I'm not really nuts, but I wuvs my Yorkie

Welcome! Great to have you both here. That is great how Gus is a Therapy dog. I say the more the merrier!! I had one dog a pom named Maya and wanted to go back to having a Yorkie, so 2 1/2 years ago I got Cali, a year after that Pixie and a 3 months a go Dixie (RIP) then a month ago I got Dixie. So be careful they can be addicting!!!lol

Karen and Gus, Welcome to YT. Sounds like you and your little guy are very special people. I know when I was in the hospital recently we had two therapy dogs come to visit. They actually helped some of the people with pt. Of course, I had my own little therapy dog since my daughter "snuck" him in several times....with the help of the nurses:D

Sorry we've been missing, life has been very busy. First I started to spring clean and the the exciting news is.................. Gus belongs to Therapy dogs of Vermont and we were selected to receive the $10,000.00 from Oprah's Big Give. It was part of the $10,000.00 given to the 100 communities. Well, we were just thrilled. Then the local ABC station and the Bank involved, gave us a challange. They sent us out into the community to see how much money we could raise on our own and they would match every penny. So needless to say, that is where I have been.

We have around 200 volunteer Animals. TDV has been wanting to get a place to call home, a main office. I think our dream may be coming through.

I have been so busy, too busy to write to you all and ask if you will vote for Gus in his contest. Febreze Pets in Paridise Contest. He is in the top 25 now, but they don't let you see how many votes they all have. They just keep rotating the photos of the top 25.
So please we want to go visit the Grand kid in San Diego. Please take a minute every day and Vote for Gus Nolan.
