Do you think that maybe Memphis is just trying to tell Corbin that he is Alpha? Be sure to stick w/a firm NO when he does this behavior. Regarding the can (I too was using one w/coins in it) I was speaking to a dog trainer who says the can and the water bottle are the two worst things you can do to try and stop a particular behavior especially in toy breeds. He says it usually will just make them more anxious then ever! I am sure some other Yters will have a great advice! Good luck |
im Not sure cause he truely only does when he is playing and thanks for the can advice just telling him No firmly doesnt seem to work and lol belive me when i say this lol I have a loud voice gotten in trouble for it alot in my life LOL (it makes me laugh to say this cause besides gettin in trouble for it i truely never noticed untill my older kid said gee Mom when you come to my class can you not talk cause your too loud LOL ) i was so embarased ... but hey out of the mouth of babes i think they speak more truth then any one out here :) but that is a nother story do have any other ideas to help besides the can ive never done the water bottle thing i have 2 kids who are water babies so that i cant have lying around the house it be a water fight 24 7 here lol ty again Julie and Memphis |
We had a nipper and using a can or loud something made him worse. I finally just picked him held his nose and told him no very firm he finally got better. |
I am not sure how old your toddler is but I was having this problem with Lily and the kids I work with. I went round and round with Lily telling her no and putting her in the kennel and finally I started having the kids tell her no and in less than a week the problem was solved. When lily would run up to them and try to nip them they would turn around and in as firm of a voice they could they would say NO that hurts and Lily seemed to react to that much better. Good luck. |
I really think you have to nip that in the bud! Its not cute and will only increase... Meka would growl at my daughter (5yr) and try to nip at her fingers if she touched her. She was basically trying to assert her dominance over my daughter because she know's that she cant w/ DH and I. It really can become a bigger problem, and I would hate to see anything happen to your toddler (i.e.: bites, scratches or whatever). Hope this helps :) |
