apaprikao | 07-18-2005 04:20 PM | Well, we just came back from the class. I liked it! We only had one mishap...lol
First of all, it's in this lady's fenced in backyard, not humongous but big enough for the purpose. The trainer is really nice and friendly, does not use any harsh methods and runs a doggy daycare through her home as well. When we first got in, I went to go introduce myself to all the regulars and one of them has a Jack Russel. Well, I walked up to her and said "I don't know how terrier on terrier is gonna be." And right as I finished saying that, her dog whips around growling, snarling, lunging and bites Rika. The dog went away with a HUGE chunk of fur and now Rika has some scratches on her face and little tiny puncture. I felt horrible. My poor baby, all she could do was roll over on her back and look at me, like "What I say?"
Well, we seperated them for the rest of the class and she was fine. When we were all warming up, the trainer knew Rika was unexperienced but wanted to see what she'd do confidence-wise so she just had me run her through the course with no pressure to do anything right, just to see what she'd do. Well, I went through the course amazingly. She jumped over all the jumps, climbed up the A-frame no problem, ran through the tunnel, flew over the dog walk, teeter-totered like a pro, tires jumps, "wobble board", table...no problem. The only thing she didn't get to well was the weave poles. I was shocked. The whole time afterwards I just was like whoa...Hehe. I had a blast. There was a segment on T Touch which I found interesting.
I'm happy and the best part was, Rika is pooped and passed out on the couch now. Hehehe.
BTW, I put some neosporin on her face and seeing as how the injury isn't bad I think I'll just let it heal on it's own. Sorry so long!! |
