Sadie's first walk around the block.... She was having so much fun... learning how to walk on the leash and Chewy was showing her how much fun a walk is... when a huge golden Retreaver lept out in the road and came flying up to us... I had just enough time to scoop both my babies up. May I add that walking and holding two scrabling pups is not fun! This dog followed us and I was telling him NO...GO HOME... And he just came after us. granted he seemed nice enough but I wasn't sure. And I wanted to put my two down so they can walk... I was yelling at his dog to get away, no owner was around. We live on a dead end so every one lets their dog run free.   HUH I can't even let Sadie have her first walk with out something like this happening. SOME PEOPLE!!! |
My neighbors don't leash their labs (and we live in a townhouse in a subdivision!) and it's frustrating because I walk that way with Loki and Loki is afraid of the big dogs. They are sweet, lovable, goofy big dogs and I love them, but Loki is afraid. Sometimes they stay in their yard but sometimes they run over and scare him. We feel for you! People need to learn what a leash is! |
I am afraid to let Murfee down when big dogs are around....mostly because Murfee doesn't know he is little so he starts barking at the other dogs and then they want to attack him. |
Our neighbor has a rot/boxer mix that is huge. He gets out all the time and comes in our yard. He's friendly, but he was always too rough with peanut. When I would scoop Peanut up to keep Buddy from pouncing on him, he would jump on me. I'm betting the dog weighs nearly as much as me. My husband finally told our neighbor to keep him away from our yard because we were afraid he would hurt Peanut. Well, yesterday I was out with my 3 year old granddaughter and Buddy came pouncing at her! I grabbed Lexy up and ran up the porch steps while hubby took Buddy home. We've told them repeatedly to keep him away. We are putting up a fence, so I hope that keeps him away. I feel for you. |
Marty was attacked by three big (HUGE) dogs once that were off-leash. Like you, I was just taking him out for a walk. One of the dogs picked him up in his mouth and scared me to death! It happened so quickly I didn't know what to do. I yelled at him and pulled on Marty's leash and he dropped him. I couldn't stop shaking the rest of the night. I just kept holding him and telling him how much I loved him over and over. Oh, and wanna know the best part? The owner looked at me, said "sorry" and walked away, leaving the three dogs to do what they wanted!   Marty was only about 6 months at the time. Thank goodness he was safe. We moved as soon as possible after that and haven't had any problems at our new house. |
I'm sorry this happened to you and your baby. We've had this happen to us too, several times. I always have DH walk with us for backup. I totally agree, SOME PEOPLE:mad: |
