The Calming Effect I have a 4 month old yorkie and she is a joy, love her to pieces.....but I'm wondering at what age will she start to calm down a bit, her running fits are very entertaining, but when will she just calmly walk about the house??? |
Oh, does that go away in a yorkie? |
At 18 months Joey is much calmer than when he was a puppy. He really didn't sleep much when he was younger, but he does take naps during the day now. We try to go on a half hour walk every night and that calms him down most of all. Play fetch with her, take her for walks, she has energy that needs to be used. |
Oh I'm starting to think that stage will NEVER go away! :D Nah just kidding. I've heard they calm down once they hit adulthood... so...a year, maybe? Yorkies will always be Yorkies but I think the rambunctiousness will eventually calm down. I'm still waiting for Franklin to be less mischievous.... we've got 5 months to go, though! People always tell me to enjoy the puppy stages. You should too. :) |
lol i dont think yorkies will ever lose their "spunk".. she may eventually get more "calm" through the years but they usually stay very energetic from what i heard... princess is almost 3 and man she will still play 24/7... ;) |
LOL, she is a spunky little thing, and I love that about her, would never change that. My 12 year old will run her for 20 minutes straight, and we try to walk her at least twice a day, but I have to say she is not much for long walks, lol but it has been rather cold, she bee line back to the house, it's so funny to watch. |
