Beabble | 03-03-2008 08:27 AM | Maggy May's Check Up We just got back from the vet with Maggy May, as some of you may remember, she had demodex mites the last time we took her and I'm VERY happy to say that after 2 weeks of treatment with Goodwinol, they did a skin scrapping again today and they didn't find any mites, YAY!! I'm to continue on with the med though for a good four weeks. Can't wait for that to be over with, her head looks like she stuck it in a can of crisco right now, lol. She was supposed to get her shots today, but because of her immune system and all she's went through and then having the demodex mites two weeks ago, the doc wants to wait at least 2 more weeks before she gets her shots, he doesn't want to rush it and her start having problems all over again, just wants to give her all the time she can have for her immune system to build back up. I love our vet, he's so good with our animals and so carring and never chances things, specially when it comes to Maggy May and her being so tiny and all that she's had to fight against so far. She weighs 3 pound 2 ounces now, and is steadily improving. I talked to them today about any weight or age limits they have for spaying, they said in Maggy's case, they'd like for her to be AT LEAST 6 months old before doing that, and then, it depends on her health and how her immune system is at that time. I know many of you have PM'ed me and asked how she was coming along so I thought it'd be easier to post about her visit to the vet her so anyone that was interested could read it. I'm startin to feel like we're partway out of the woods with her now and can actually start to breath a bit easier. Thanks for all the concern and prayers that have been said for her, you all are the best! |
