Does anybody else bathe their Yorkie with the hose?
 
It's a beautiful day out today, so I put our little guy in the ex pen on our deck for a few hours. Then, I thought about him needing a bath, and the light bulb came on: Why not just spray him with the hose?

He hates baths and is kind of a pain to bathe. Not to mention that I end up getting wet and I don't like it, either. So, I just put the sprayer attachment onto the hose and sprayed him down really good with it. Granted, he didn't like it still but it was faster, easier and cleaner for me.

This is really convenient, I can't believe I didn't think of this before. I think I'll make a habit of it on warmer days as summer comes up. Any of you do the same?

is the water cold or do you have a hot water tap outside?

If its a regular Hose The water is WAY to Cold for your yorkie.
I wouldnt do that again ..... Unless its a really hot day & there running around.

The only time I've ever done it with the hose is in the middle of summer in the baby pool I have for them. It is easier. If it's warm enough, I don't see a problem.

We're getting a pool also this summer. We plan on taking him in with us and letting him swim around. That water won't exactly be warm, either. I don't see a problem with this.

No, I make bath time as nice as possible for him. He's actually starting to enjoy it I think. Would you wanted to be squirted with a hose?

Umm...no way :thumbdown The water coming out of that hose is too cold (how would you feel being blasted with cool water?) and those spray attachments have too high of a pressure. I can't imagine that it would feel too good to be sprayed with high-pressured cold water. I bathe mine in the sink with the spray nozzel...it's a gentle pressure and I use warm water.

If you would take a shower yourself in water that temperature, then it is fine. If it would be too cold for you to do this....it is too cold for him. My opinion.

Chachi loves to play in the hose in the summer but I give him a bath in the sink

well i know you can adjust the pressure and i can't imagine she would spray him with full pressure.. i'm just conerned abotu the temp of the water

Even if it was warm enough I've heard that hoses have lead in them unless you specifically buy one that says "lead free" or "safe to drink from" I know mine drink the bath water so I would be concerned about this.

Loki has jumped in the sprinkler but only on a VERY HOT day like 95 and he was dry like 5 minutes later.

There are several pressure settings. Obviously I don't use the highest.

I guess there probably are some that adjust...I've never had one that adjusted pressures though. I'm just picturing this little dog who is already not fond of water and baths (and has severe anxiety as the OP stated in another one of her threads) being blasted by cold water. I just think that would only scare him more and make him more anxious and afraid of bath timr
