Car rides make Kodie sick Every time Kodie rides in the car he gets sick. Someone told me not to feed him then take him for a ride and he should be ok. I did this morning and he got sick and threw up. We are wanting to ride to the beach to check on our place this weekend but don't know what to do about him getting sick. Any suggestions or something that has helped your baby tolerate a car ride would be helpful. Kodie is 15 weeks old..Thanks |
Feed him a ginger snap cookie before you leave. |
Man I wish I could remember the name...but go to a natural foods store and talk to them. There are some kind of drops that help. We have a pharmacist who also sells holistic rememdies and he suggested it. If you can't find it, let me know and I will go ask him. |
Try taking him for very short rides maybe around the block or whatever so he can build up his tolerance to the motion. Also where is he sitting during his rides? |
He sits in his pet taxi on the back seat with the seatbelt holding it securely. |
Have you mentioned to the vet? Maybe they can help. |
both of mine did this until they go older. |
I agree with Chachi. Ginger Snaps work great for some dogs (mine included). I is way better than giving drugs if you can avoid it. |
Hi welcome to YT :) I have a Kodi too well - the e ;) I had a dog that was like this... If you start out with little trips .... make sure to stop when he starts to look ill.. and work your way to the beach.... good luck.. |
Tyson had this same problem. So I started giving him a piece of a ginger snap cookie. It actually works...no more motion sickness...who knew. |
When we first got Callie we kept her in a hard carrier and buckeled it in the backseat but after a few weeks she started getting sick in there everytime time so I started holding her where she could see out the window while someone else was driving and that seemed to work most of the time so i bought one the look out car seats and took her for little rides and and increased the times of the rides there for like desensatizing her and she does really well now but it takes time. Before I found YT I read a thing about desensatizing them. |
My karleigh is the same way, I was told by my vet not to feed her before we leave, She gets so worked up and then gets sick:( Im thinking about trying the ginger snaps;) I heard they work real well. |
