I am very concern about Sal Sal brother Sherlock died last night:rip: . I did not know where to post this question. Sal just wonders around the house looking like he is lost. I am worried that he will not make it on this own. He came straight from his litter right into a house with another dog. What do I do should I consider get another pet right away or should I wait until I am ready too? |
Sorry for your loss. I would wait untill you are ready also. Hes just going to grieve the same as you |
I do not have answers for you but I eanted to say am so sorry about your lost. We have done it both ways. Got one right away and waited a couple of months. We will keep you in our prayers. |
Sorry to hear about your loss. I really don't have an answer to your question, but I'll keep Sal, you, and your family in my prayers. |
I am so sorry for your loss. I believe that only you have the answer to that question. It is very personal and everyone is different in their grieving process. Having said that, I think Sal is grieving and dogs do grieve just like us. I would give it some time and I am sure the answers will come to you. In the mean time, try to keep him busy and occupied and be sure to give him lots of love. Hugs... Janie |
I really don't know! Poor boy! I would jut give him lots of extra loving for a while! Probably be good for both of you! I am sorry for your families loss! |
I have no advice, since when my Starr died she was an only doggie. I'm so sorry for your loss:cry: |
I am sorry to hear of your loss. When Dixie passed away the other were very sad and moped around. Then a few weeks later the breeder gave me Roxie and they did not take to her for awhile. I think they also needed time to mourn Dixie. |
I'm so sorry for your loss. |
I am so sorry for your loss. Give Sal some extra loving and you will know when the time is right to get him a friend. |

I have been through this too many time with breeding pairs. The last one was the loss of my male Siamese over a year ago. My female had such a hard time, he was here when she got her & they were together for 15 yrs. To make matters worse she was really attached to my daughter & my dd went off to college. So my female had a tough yr. I really thought about getting another cat for her, and even looked at some. But I decided the time wasn't right for me & have just spent extra time loving her. This fall she was a mess, but now she is doing better They grieve too and they have to work their way through the process. It is so hard. Don't push him too soon to accept someone new if it doesn't feel right. |
Cathi~ I'm so sorry for you and Sal. I'm hoping that it was something that was quick and that Sherlock didn't suffer at all! Not that it makes losing him any less painful, but at least he didn't have to suffer for any longer with the cancer, and maybe he just knew it was his time. May Sherlock rest in peace and watch over you and Sal. |
I am so sorry for your loss. Sal needs time to grieve. Give him lots of kisses, hugs and kisses and comfort each other. Then when you both are ready, add a new addition to your family. |
I am very concern about Sal Quote:
Very sorry for Sherlock's passing. Sal is also mourning Shelock's passing. Right now he is wondering where his brother is and is looking for him. To help Sal overcome this try changing his routine even new toys, treats and even car rides, walks, more hugs, etc. |
