Breeding Yorkies Does anyone know the size differences that are acceptable for breeding? I have heard that the father must be smaller than the mother to breed them, is that true? If not what is the rule for size differences? Thank you in advance for your help with this. I am new on this site and this is my very first post!!!! Ronda |
Welcome to YT:) There is a Breeders Section here and I'm sure they could help you. The male does not always have to be smaller than the females. It depends on the structure of the dogs. |
Wanted to say hello and welcome to YT! it's a great place with loads of wonderful information and people! :) |

Breeding sizes Thank you for your answers so fast. Wow. How do I post a new post? I can not find a POST button. LOL I have so many questions but do not know how to post them. I did it a min ago and now can not find my way. sheezzz Thanks, Ronda |
Go to "Forums" on the top left of the screen. Click on the category you want to post in (this is general discussion, but you'll want to post this question in the breeders section). Click "New Thread" close to the top left of the screen. Type in your title. Type in your message. Click submit. |
Welcome to YT! The size difference goes way beyond the actual breeding pair. The sizes of the rest of the dogs in the line contribute to the equation and must be considered as well. It is very important to know the complete genetic/health history of the dogs several generations back, not just the current dog. |
