Cant take it anymore!!!! Zayden wont stop bitting. Ive bought him so many toys and all he wants to do is bite my toes and finger, even sometimes my face! I say no to him and he just keeps doing it. Pleaseee help me I cant take it anymoreeee!:( |
Patience~ Patience~ He is still a young pup and very trainable.. Call a trainer in your area and use the same command which is NO BITE over and over and over again! Good Luck Vicki |
We used the No Bite with Murfee too....very firmly. Good luck. I know those baby teeth sure do hurt. |

Boo is five months old, and she still bites constantly. She bit my daughter and drew blood the other day when we were trying to get something out of her mouth that she found on the floor. We've tried everything...popping her in the nose, holding her down and saying "no bite", putting her by herself in "time out", bitter apple spray...and she still bites! We are attending obedience class right now, and it has not helped yet with her biting. I think holding her down has worked the best so far. I'm trying to be very consistent and do this everytime. If you find something that works, please pass it along!! |
Are you buying him Bully Stix? He needs proper chewing chews. Also, coins in a can, squirt bottle with water in it or a metal pan and spoon, bang the spoon to the pan. One of these tricks may help. Good luck! |
just be patient it passes I promise!!!!! I know it hurts like he** but he is still a baby!! I like the can with coins in it, I have found that, that works to best for us! |
i posted with this problem a few days ago with my 11 week old... i was told to do a high pitched yelp sound.. kinda like a dog would do if they were bit too hard.. its their way of saying "stop that hurt." i tried it and my dog immediately stopped and licked my hand instead. maybe you can try it? my dog is biting a lot less hard now.. she is learning |
I just used a deep voice and repeated NO Biting !!!! She learned no is no ! Takes time this is all new to them ! Also I agree get some chew toys! asap!!! |
I would buy Bully sticks.They are the best. Only give after meals . |
Welcome to the club. Kayla is now 8mo. old and she is still biting. I have tryed the holding her down, no bite, kennel time, you name it and nothing works. She bites HARD. She sleeps with us and as soon as the alarm goes off the third time (I guess she counts) she is all over us, biting hands, feet and yes even in the face. Believe me, I know what you are going through. I could just scream sometimes she is so stubborn and then I look in that little face, and just melt. I guess we are all going to have to be patient. And this too shall pass, so they say. |
Biting is always such a hard thing to break, and normally its all about being the Alpha. Being Firm isn't eough you need to do something that scares them when they bite. With Chloe I had a bottle full of nickles and when she tried to bite I shook it right at her and shes scared of it. When she sees it she knows shes in trouble. It worked, she doesn't bite, but when she gets too mean I don't even have to shake it anymore I just hold it and she submits to me. |
First I tell Tucker "No Bite!" for a few times. I try giving him a toy to chew on instead of my fingers. If that doesn't work, I put him down or I leave the room to teach him we don't play like that. Then I come back and he's happy to play with his toy. These were the suggestions my trainer gave me. He still gets in his biting moods, but it is becoming less and less. It will help more when I can get my husband to stop playing with his hands and Tucker. He likes to have Tucker chase his hands, then Tucker bites them. He is improving as well. Training the dog, training the husband! :) |
I used a whistle and it worked wonders. When Maggy may would bite, I'd say no bite one time, if she continued, I'd blow the whistle very loud once and then say no bite. Within a day or so, she didn't bite anymore. Best of luck to you. |
