diva pups?! i came across this website while looking for a yorkie puppy. Is it a reliable seller or do they get their puppies from puppy mills..also has anyone bought from there? i have some more questions..like do they keep in contact with you, care about the puppy after they sell it, etc..? |
Get Ready...I think you will hear from lost of Yorkie Talkers about Diva Pups... I don't think it comes well respected~ I got my puppy from a local breeder...that is usually the best way to go..and Yorkie Talkers here on this board also know of Wonderful Breeders to share too~ ;) Good Luck! :) |
ok thanks alot..yah when i came across that site..i had a bad feeling about it..thats why i asked. thanks for replying! :D |

I don't even buy products from Diva Pup bc I don't want to support them in any way! |
ok, where do you find information on local breeders in your area? |

I just posted to your other thread. Tino and Bunny came from two different breeders in TX. I know you said you wanted someone local and even though I'm originally from Winter Park, I don't know of any breeders in Central Florida. I would start with the local club contact or go to a meet up in Orlando and find out which breeders some of the meet up members used. Going to a meet up is great bc you can ask about health issues and you can see the personalities. |
thanks for replying! |

If you know the right questions to ask and what to look for to find a good breeder (you can get all of that from a search here) you can also use breeders.net and plug in your zip code. You just must know that they are not all reputable so you need to check it out carefully. Good luck. |
Make sure you get your baby from a private breeder! Good luck! |
I know this is a little off the topic. But I just looked at thier site for the first time. Those are some of the most exdpensive dogs and products that I have ever seen. WHy do they think they can get that much for them? And alot of their items in thier shop are from petedge. They have them marked up like 400%! I was just kinda shocked. |
I have posted this before but I have heard HORRIBLE things about Divapup.. They are actually right near me (if its the place i am thinking of).. I know someone who got a yorkie from there and it died 2 weeks later.. They gave her another one and that one also died within a couple of months... There is another person in my town who did get hers from there and she was very happy.. I would never order anything from there (Shana said, they are VERY expensice) They even have a spa to take your pet!! Good luck and like i said I am 100% sure but i think some of there dogs are probably from puppy mills |
I have never done business with DivaPup, but they have been around a while. My understanding is that they are a "network of breeders" who pay for advertising on the site and I think Elizabeth, one of the owners, is a broker as well. Here is a link to what they define as their breeder standards. You all are smart enough to know that they can SAY or print what their policies and standards are but it is what happens in actuality that matters. Please be careful and check things out carefully before buying a puppy from anyone. http://www.divapup.com/standards.asp |
Well, one of the reasons they are so expensive is that Jessica Simpson got her Maltese from them (or so I hear). I can't believe their prices! |
diva pups Re: Diva pups i do not know for a certainty that they buy their pups from puppy miles but my feeling is yes they do i bought a chihuahua for 1500.00 because it was advertised as being so oo oo oo small wud be under 3 lbs therefore the high price and of course a purbreed any way he was shipped to canada on a 4 hr flite when we picked him up he smelling like a smelly old barn yard pig pen whatever u can think of he was foul his body had sores on it pimple like things i had to bath him 3 times in the middle of nite to be able to have anywhere near u and that only lessened the smell i took him to the vet he already was 2.5 lbs and only 8 weeks i knew immediatly that he was wasnt going to be small i already had three that i paid 400 400 and 500 for the 500 is four lbs and delicate one is six lbs and the other is 10 lbs well the vet didnt think he was even purebreed i had previously had yorkies for years and he reminded me of them and chi mixed well i wasdnt going to return any dog back to what he came from so i kept him despite feeling ripped off i phone diva and the breeder why is his hair so course why is his tail so curly why is his head silver and his body blk why is he so big thkey first made excuses then just didnt bother with my calls i just got results of dna he is 75 percent chi and 25 per cent yorkie surprise surprise he still is a nice dog but does weigh in at 12 lbs. Later an employee of theirs named laura called me and said she had quit over just the issues i had tried to address she had been the person i delt with at diva pups i would not recommend them to anyone nor wud i buy another dog from them they are mispresented completly to the point to complete lying |
