spaying...laser vs. traditional which did you use? My friend that has a yorkie/maltese mix is taking her this friday to get spayed and they offer the laser spaying for $100 more. She is thinking she might go that route cuz she doesn't like the idea of them cutting on her. but I don't know anyone that has used this method before...so wondering what your thoughts are on it :) thanks!!!!!!!!!! |
I have had both laser and regular spays done on my girls. I truly did not notice a difference in healing time on Emma and Lula (who had laser) than on McKenzie where we went w/the traditional spay. There also didn't seem to be any difference in recovery either :) |
wow,..for double the cost of the surgery, that is disappointing to hear. I will let her know,..she really doesn't have a lot of $$ to spend, but she wants what is best for her baby. cant' say I blame her :D |
Chloe had laser, she healed really fast and has no scar! She did have little bumps afterwards but they went away. |
Jazzie had a cut/spay, with disolving stitches, can't say she has a scar, it healed up smoothly matching the rest of her skin. I was shocked that she was ready to play the very next day, I didn' t let her of course, but I could not believe it. Hopefully the day I get a hysterectomy I will be ready to bounce around the next day.;) |
Both my boys were done with laser and I asked my vet the difference. She told me there is less recovery time , almost no scarring no open wounds(meaning the areas between the stitches). And the laser cauterizes the incision so there is alot less blood loss. The boys were ready to get back to being boys the next day. |
My Lucy had it and did just fine. |
