FINALLY! My Polly actually "played" with somthing! I just had to share my excitement: I have had my 4 year old Yorkie for about 5 months now, she was raised by a breeder and did not know how to play with toys at all. :thumbdown We have been trying and trying to get her interest but to no avail. Finally, today, she responded! I:thumbup: still can't believe my eyes! She actually attacked a little ball for a few minutes, and she is chewing on a little dog biscuit as I type! (Which she has always turned her nose up at) I am so thrilled that that I can't even begin to express it. I will post a picture of her playing when I get them downloaded.:animal-pa |
Ahhh, her just didn't know what toys were for. :) Sounds like she's coming around in her new pampered pet lifestyle. |
We had a boston come into the animal hospital that came from a puppy mill. A rescue organization brought her in, called her Henny Penny. She didnt know what grass was, couldnt walk completely right because she was used to being caged 24/7. Her one nipple was HUGE because it was one of 2, and eventually the only one, that made milk for her tons and tons of babies. It almost touched the ground when she walked :( I just loved her. I would take her outside and try to get her to run around. She made a lot of progress just in the week she was with us. I loved her but she was very dog aggressive and wouldnt have gone well in our home. I think of her a lot. I love watching dogs make progress that have come from not so great homes like that. Its sad that they have gone through what they have. It amazes me that they can still be so forgiving after all of that. |
Aww thats sweet:) I hope she conutinue to thrive with her toys:D |

Just because a dog is raised by a breeder does not mean they are not allowed to play with toys. My house is covered with toys that the younger Yorkies love to play with and they chase each other trying to steal the toy from each other but to be honest my adult Yorkies have very little interest in playing with toys. I have only had one adult Yorkie that really loved chasing any toy you would throw and she was obsessed with doing that. I am glad your girl has found a wonderful loving home. |
