Sorry to post here...medical help please... Well, Max is all of 6 months and he is 3.15#. He is in getting neutered as I type this. The Vet also decided that all the baby teeth that did not fall out on their own: he want's to pull now :( while he is already under. That way we won't have to put him under again. So this post it for two things please. Good thoughts that he does well....on both. And the second: I will stop to buy him a baby "one-sy" (sp) but what size do I get a 3# Yorkie? Thank you all for any help and good thoughts! :D |
I hope he does well. I would get him a preemie sized one since he is so small. |
Good thoughts headed your way for a safe surgery for your baby:) I agree about the preemie sized onesie:thumbup: I saw some in WalMart, they came in a pack of 5 or 6. It's good to have a few so while they're being washed there's always a clean one or two for him to wear. |
I will pray that your little Max will be fine! Like "mizzwanned" said, a preemie should be fine. That's the size I buy for my Toto. Please update us when you hear from Max. |
I just scheduled my Bella for 3/12 :( She only has one tooth left and of course the spay. I have waited 15 months!! and I am still nervous! Hope your baby has a quick recovery!! |
We are home Just a quick note to say we are home... More tomorrow |
Hope your baby does well with the surgery. As for the onesie, Walmart's preemie's should fit. Good luck. |
What is onesie for? Can someone tell me if you used onesie for postsurgery use? Mochi is going for spraying day after tomorrow, and I am trying to make her a e-collar to avoid her from licking the wound. I have heard that you can use a doggie t-shirt, let them wear the t-shirt upside down (back legs go thru the sleeves instead of front legs). Have anyone used this method? If so, how did you avoid the t-shirt from sliding out and how did your baby pee? |

Get the small or a premie size. Or you can get the small inflatable e-collar from petco. |
I'm sure he'll do just fine...my sons male was done at 5 1/2 mos. and was right at 3 lbs. We never bought any onesies for him or my little girl(they got fixed the same day)..My son just put the pups little pjs on him and he did fine.. |
It's so scary isn't it? Hope all goes well for your little guy. Btw, I'm in Chandler, AZ. |
Zander was a week shy of 6 months when he was neutered, I didn't get him a shirt, he really didn't bother with the stitches. With Jazzie I did get her a preemie shirt, put it on her the normal way, but realized she didn't really need it. She didn't bother her stitches either. I had so much worry, before the surgeries.... yet they went about life like nothing. Pups are amazing!! very resilient. |
So far so good, He is sleeping of course. Max had 9 teeth taken out. 6 upper and 3 lower. He is not to steady on his feet. Just wants to be held. A big thank you!! The preemie size is perfect. So he is all covered and warm! |
Glad he is home safe and sound |
Again Thank you all. We are going to nap. I work late swing and have been up for almost 30 hours. We need a nap!!:D |
Glad to hear everything went well for Max... I bet he looks so cute in his onesie. Sending get well wishes to little Max. |
So hows little Max doing today? |

these things are so scary! take care! Love being sent your way! |
Update: Max did REALLY well. I even took him shopping. The Greyhounds needed a bit tougher toys. The two pups play tug tug with the stuffies and the next thing you know they have the prize!! (the stuffing:D ) So Max went to petco with us and then to the lumber yard. I hated to leave him alone in his crate after the surgery. He did really well. Very alert and happy. Loved the extra attention he got from the stores! He slept well last night. But he did wet himself..which is something he has never done before. But today he is going outside well. Thank you all for your care and concern!!  :thumbs up |
Great news. I've had six furbabies go through spaying/neutering at one time or another and it is always a tense time. Such a relief when it is all over and the baby's eyes a sparkling again. Glad it turned out okay. |
