3 types Everyone seems to think there are 2 types of yorkie hair..when, in all actuality, there are 3...I had read this a long time ago..anyway, here is a site, this explains the texture of all 3 kinds.. http://www.canadianyorkshireterrierr...orkie_coat.htm |

Thanks for the info. |
That explains it! I think Gizmo has a more wooly coat. It's thick and healthy. It doesn't break, but boy does it matt. Thanks for this info. |

Thanks for the info......I always thought my Jack had a cottony coat but this article said it is typically thin....Jacks is thick & mats easily, so I think it's woolly.. |
well what abot the modified coats??? my boy does not mat, the ends of his hair is not bushy and his  coat is neither thick or thin he does not fit in either catagory so what about him??? he is not silk as the silk coated pups always have that velvety soft silky shiny coat and he did not have that as a pup. |

well Jeanie is a wooly coat not a cottony coat. I always thought she was cotton coat but she is very thick, and it is not brittle at all. And mats! I was getting out a mat this AM. I'm sure that's why she runs from me every morning, she thinks I'm going to brush her..... |
I suppose my Azrael is a Wooly but a cotton coat described in that article doesn't sound quite right to me. A cotton coat is thick and matts easily. They are saying it's a thin coat. :confuse2: |
