(you'd said that you didn't know what to tell her, what if you print out all the replies to this thread and show her all the good thoughts and prayers YTers are sending??)

I read them to her yesterday, and will again today. She was very thankful :)

Years ago, she used to have a 3lb yorkie that was so little and cute and sweet. His name was BooBoo, she bought him from a homeless man living in a van. He was the sweetest little doggy. Luigi sort of filled the void in her from missing her BooBoo.
She wants another pup from me, but I wanted to let my little girl rest a cycle. Now I am torn. :(

I know she is hurting and you want to help stop her pain. But if it were me i would let my baby rest. Maybe you can talk to your cousin and explain to her that she needs to rest this cycle but that she will be the first to take her pick on the next one.

I am so sorry for you and for your cousin and everyone who loved little Luigi. The really scary thing about this is that it could happen to any one of us. My baby Daisy gets up during the night and likes to sleep on the floor next to the bed. Because of this I never get up without turning the light on and checking to see where she is first. It scares me so much that my hubby refuses to turn on the light and tells me that he won't step on her. I pray that he never does.

i am so sorry for your cousin, her family, you and little luigi :( i pray their pain lessens and they learn to forgive themselves for this tragic accident...it was a sad accident - not intentional :( i cannot imagine the pain they are feeling

How very sad for you and your cousin's family! Those kinds of freak accidents are what worry me...and there was nothing your poor cousin could have done. I feel so sad for you all! I send my very best wishes to your and your cousin that the sorrow lessens for you soon. Take comfort with each other and happy memories of sweet Luigi. RIP Luigi.

Prayers going up for your cousin and her family. I can only imagine the pain they feel. I am deeply saddened by the news. Thank you for sharing so we can pray and also remember to be as careful as possible.

Well she begged and begged her husband, and since yesterday was her birthday, he is actually going to let her get another puppy. So I have been calling every ad in the paper interviewing people for her. ;) She is going to go look at one tonight that we thought was a good match.
He made it very clear that this is not to replace Luigi, but to help fill the void and heal them. He says they can never replace him.
I will update when I hear more!

this is so upsetting :( and scary... im so sorry for her... I feel like this could totally happen to me or something. my baby is sooo tiny. I should definetly get a bell for her this weekend :(

I'm so sorry this happened. It's something we all worry about...these babies are so small and so fast - I worry all of the time about stepping on Scooter! We'll be praying for you cousin and her family. I hope the new puppy can fill the hole in their hearts!

Once we had a puppy go to a home where the husband was rather overweight and couldnt see below his belly well ;) They got their little girl a bell immediately because they didnt want him to step on her on accident, lol.

I have stepped accidentally on boobah, and you never know if they are behind you or not! At night, I just shuffle to the bathroom to make sure I dont step on them. And when Im cooking, I always make sure they are not around. I put these bells on them, so when they are walking around, I can tell where they are!:animal-pa

There is nothing that can be said right now to ease her pain but I'll keep the whole family in my thoughts and prayers. My heart goes out to them.
