Izzys bed gotta go. She has pi**ed on it again:eek: . I just washed it last night. She will be 19 week old tomorrow and we will have had her 2 weeks Friday. The potty training is not going well, I am growing very frustrated:( . I really dont know what to do. I am away from home several hours a day until the end of April. Could this be because shes not getting enough attention???:confused:. Is it wrong for her not to have a bed. I think shes peed on her blankets also, I have a cold so I cant smell great right now. Sorry this is so long but I NEED HELP PLEASE LOL.

She's a 19 week old puppy. Accidents happen. :) I hate to break it to you but my two are almost 2 and 4 years old and still occasionally (rarely- but it still sometimes happens) have accidents.

I know shes gonna have accidents but, shes acts like she doesnt have a clue what the pad is. Am I doing something wrong????????

Maybe the bed still smells like pee (even after being washed)?

febreeze the bed before the wash, before the dryer, and once it's out

Soak up some pee on the pad so she will know that is where she is to go

Sometimes, it's hard when you get them at that age to get them housebroken..Was she using pee pads or going outside before you got her? I had to rehome my biewer that I got at 5 1/2 mos. as I couldn't get her to use the pee pads..Good luck hon, I know how frustrating it is..

She is old enough and it will be alot easier for you to start taking her out, believe me I tried the potty pads with my 10 week old puppy and it was horrible he would sometimes go on the pad and sometimes go on the floor. I hated to do it but I would take him out and if he did not go in 5 min I would bring him back in and put him in his crate wait about 15-20 min take him out again if he still did not go potty put him in his crate. We barked and whinned but I just ignored him. It hurt me because I just like to hold him most of the time. Know he will go to the door and bark when he has to go. It is sometimes so funny because he will dart to the door barking like he is a crazy puppy. But i am so proud of him. I was like you a couple of weeks ago. It is gonna be a pain in the but doing this every 15mins but it is worth it and when she does go give her a treat and praise her as soon as she does it. My puppy is home most of the day in his crate from 6-3pm when I am working. When I get home I let him out and he will go in his crate about 9pm sometimes even by himself and go to bed for the night. He is doing well. I also keep him on a eating schedule. He will ger up and eat about 5am and when the kids get home from school he will eat again at 330 and again about 8pm. I take him out about 10-15 min after he eats. So far this has been working better for me than the potty pads.

I have a keen sense of smell, bed is fresh an clean when it comes out. Its a round bed with a insert,you can kind of tell she digs out one side and thats where she pees, sounds like a terrier to me loves to dig. Is it ok for her not to have a soft bed to sleep in at night???? I thought we would have a little progress in two weeks time. I dont think weve had one little iota of progress. This is my only complaint about Izzy is the potty. Ahhh if they only didnt pee and poop lol.

IMO the pee smell is never washed out unless you use something like Nature's Miracle on it before you wash it. The puppy will continue to pee on their bed, blanket, rug, couch, etc. until an enzyme cleaner is used. I actually pour it on if I think the pee has gone down quite a ways. I don't use Nature's Miracle on my pee pads because I prefer that their smell is left on the pad so they will go back to it.

Get an x pen or gate her in an area with a pee pad when you can't watch her 100%. Don't give her free roam of your house. I wouldn't give her access to a dog bed right now. After you know she has gone potty play with her and let her roam a bit and then put her right back in the x pen.

You may think there is no smell but, trust me, the dog can smell it!!!!!!

Oh please don't give up or get frustrated with her. She is still such a little baby. It just takes patience, patience, patience. I would probably run it thru the wash several times, maybe with a detergent that has febreeze in it, and then put it in the dryer with the dryer sheets that have febreeze in it. Good luck, it just takes time.

We try to watch her every second shes out lol but she is frekin FAST. She stays in my master bath when we cant watch her very close. But I feel like I put her up to much:thumbdown, between kids cleaning, homework, blah, blah, blah its hard to spend a huge amount of time with her in between:( . I feel terrible sometimes but Im doing as much as possible. Thanks for your help.
