Pixie Update The vet feels that the lump is from the rabies shot as that is where she gave it. She gave me a steroid Delta Albaplex to help with the inflammation and said to watch it and if it gets bigger bring her back, I am leary of putting her on a steroid so I may wait a couple of days and see if it goes down by itself. Has anyone ever used a steroid for this reason? Thanks Roxie's leg is fine |
Hi, Patti. I'm glad the lump was from the shot. Three years ago, Sydney had a lump from her rabies shot, and our Vet said it would go away in time. No steroids. Glad Roxie is fine. Sheila |
I think your instincts are right about not giving her steroids. I believe myself that those should ONLY be used when there is a dire need for them. I bet that lump will go away on it's own;) Glad to hear that Roxie's leg is okay too:love: |

I'm so glad both of the girls are fine!!! I wouldn't give her the steriod either.. If it in fact is fro the shot.. It'll go away on its own |
Thanks I am going to keep an eye on it and as long as it is getting smaller I am not going to give the steroid. I appreciate all your input, it helps! |
Lulu had a lump from her shot and it went away in a few days. I would wait and let it go down normally. If it makes you feel better maybe alternate compresses on it. |
I am glad it just ended up being a vaccination lump. Chachi was on a steroid for a short time for allergies. I would watch the lump and hold of on giving it. When chachi was on it I didnt realize the problems they can cause |
glad it was just a vaccine lump. i wouldn't give her the steroid. It will probably just go away on its own. |
Glad things turned out ok with your babies. What a relief.:) Yeah, those lumps almost always go away on their own. Sometimes a little massaging can help if it isn't painful. |
