Online Registering
 
I am having a heck of a time trying to register Izzy online. Whenever I put her code in, it says if I continue, she will have limited registration :confused: I called the breeder, and she says, no, thats not the case at all, and that no one else has had that problem. I dont know what I am doing wrong. It says to enter a code from the limited box, and theres no code, but the box is not darkened or anything either. I need help! :confused:

If you are trying to register online with AKC then I recommend you call AKC. They are very helpful. Their phone number should be on the papers somewhere.

I tried, they are closed today for the holiday. I guess I will call tomorrow.

Mine has a box under "Litter Owner Step 4" that has a 3 digit number in it. It says to darken in the box if it is supposed to be limited registration, and mine is not darkened in so I would assume that is the code you would put in.

Yes, there is no code there, and it isnt darkened, so I am confused. Breeder says she is not limited, so I dont know.

i can clear this up for you real quick before you mess up. if there is no code in the box, you cannot register online. And it says plainly you must have a code in the box to use the online registration feature. AND if you continue, just like it says, you will have limited which you don't want. Also For future use, AKC is in the process of stopping online regisatrations because even tho the box code is blackened by the breeder, people can hold it to the light, figure out the code and register as unlimited.

Thank you! That did clear it up for me. I thought I would just mail it in, but then I was concerned that they would do it limited there once they got it.
I'll just fill it out and mail it in today! :)

I was thinking about that too! Even if the breeder used a dark pen or marker you could still scan it and lighten the image to see what the code is....I'm not surprised they are going to stop the online thing, even though that is less convenient.

Yes, they are going back to the old way so all the new litter registration papers where you register your pup in your name will have a blank box. They are phasing it in now so there will be a few still with the numbers until they get it completely ready to stop.
