Dry Skin Do yorkies have naturally dry skin? Nala scratches and chews alot and it looks like she has dandruff. I've heard that Johnson & Johnson baby shampoo is good, but I also have heard not to use people shampoo on them. What is the best shampoo for their skin? I've given her a bath once and I used Hartz puppy shampoo. Oh, and I just wanted to say "THANKS" |

 |
She had fleas from her breeder but i'm 99% sure i've gotten rid of them. I only found 3 and everytime she goes to sleep i check and i haven't seen any so it may be allergies. my other dog has them bad! after i give her a bath with a good conditioner i'll see how things go and if she's still scratching i see about getting her some of those pills, we already have some but i'm still gonna check with the vet first. |
We use Frontline or Advantix on both our dogs. You get them at the vet. Our vet told us the other day that fleas are beginning to develop a resistance to them and it helps to use one product for a couple of months and then switch to the other brand for a couple of months. When you use these regularly and also make sure that no fleas are in your home, there is no problem with those itchy little buggers. The only time they got fleas was when we visited my daughter (has Great Danes), and her house was LOADED with them......we ALL got fleas! YUCK! |
Frontline vs Advantage That's good to know to keep changing them. I didn't know that and was using the same one all of the time. Thank Goodness we live in a place that hardly gets fleas. Thanks for the FYI! |
