Litter Trained-- a question My baby girl (almost 2 years old!) is litter trained... HOWEVER, she will stand on the pad to poo, and just before it falls off her butt, she'll run off! I am at a loss as to how to help her stay on the pad. She has absolutely no problem peeing on the pad, and never misses. Any suggestions? |
Maybe try putting the pad inside a litter box, maybe one with a hood,(like a cat littler box) that way maybe your dog will not jump off of the pad so quickly. Hope this helps!;) |

My lily does this as well, I have yet to find a way to fix it. |
That is common to the yorkie breed I believe. At least I've never seen it as common in other breeds! Yorkies seem to be pacing poopers. Coby started that, but we tried to solve it by either keeping him on the leash while potty training (so we limited him being able to "leave" the pad) or else fencing him in to just the potty pad area while he pottied. It seemed to create his pacing habits to be circles (on the pad) instead of straight lines (right off the pad). Don't know if that really helped or if we were just lucky. But Coby does really well (unless he's having one of those "problem poops" ) |
Mine pup has done that, but it was because poo was getting stuck on the hair around her booty. Maybe you could be sure the area is clean and not too much hair back there. Good Luck. :animal-pa |
