Why do some Yorkies give lots of kisses and some don't? Most of my Yorkies smother me with kisses but I have a couple that you have to beg to get a kiss out of them. Mine are all raised the same in the same loving environment but some are just snooty. Go wonder! Do many of you have snooty Yorkies?

well i read that yorkies dont' kiss for the reasons we do- to show love- it's a way of saying... this is my human... so maybe some of your pups feel like you belong to them more than others??

I have one 8 year old female that every now and then will come up to me, when I am sitting down and she will start pawing at my face and then reach over and give me a kiss, then she will be ready to get down. I have a 7 year old female that normally keeps to herself but about once a day she will start barking frantically until you pick her up and let her give a kiss, then she will want to get down. It is just strange behavior. I guess it depends on their personality. I have a 5 month old puppy now that will not give kisses and it drives me crazy. Maybe is does have something to do with belonging or dominance. I love them all regardless.

Kassie is so mean with Kisses, I get in her face and beg while she turns her head away from me like the little snob she is lol. When it suits her she will give in and give me one, which is rare . Kenji who is no longer with us was a kissy face.

I taught Loki "kiss" which means lean in so I can kiss his nose. He kind of touches his nose to my nose or lets me kiss his nose. I don't need any tongue :) Sammy just licks faces and she has nasty breath so it always gets a reaction out of us which is probably why she does it. :rolleyes:

I know what you mean, it really hurts my feelings when I beg for a kiss and they just turn their head. We are slaves to them and they are so ungrateful...hehe.

Gypsy is a kisser for me but not to Jimmie. He trained her not to kiss him though. The groomer said Gypsy would not give her a kiss.

My husband and I seriously crack up laughing when we try to get one and she sticks her nose in the air and turns her head . It puts her nose even furher outta joint cuz she knows we are laughing at her then lol.

I'll have to tell my husband that one. It'll make him feel better since Samson loves to give me kisses all the time but turns his head when hubby wants a kiss. I told him that he can always sit in for me when I'm being woken up at 4:00 am getting bathed in all over my face kisses LOL

Kissing Crazy
 
My new puppy started kissing me when I picked him up from breeder, so I encouraged by always repeating the word "kisses" I wake up and the 1st thing is him kissing me good morning. He will run to me everytime I say Kisses. Maybe the favorite treat trick would help to reward for kisses. My three other Yorkies rarely kissed, so it must be a Yorkie's nature to want to kiss or not. When I am on computer he jumps on my shoulder to get my attention with kisses, and yes it always works. When I'm on the phone it's not so cute, and very hard to talk and kiss at the same time!

My furbabies kiss their human dad, they save their kisses for him....once in a great while they'll give me kisses..... funny kids.

martini is a stinker when it comes to giving kisses its like only when she wants to or she knows u just ate something lol...shes crazy other then that shes more of a cuddler
