Is he spoiled Hey everyone. My lil Sebastian has a funny way of eating his food. He is 7 months old by the way. When he is at home, he very rarely eats his food from the bowl. When we wake up, or I should say when he wakes me up, he wakes me up either to play or to eat. I can tell i guess when he wants to eat by the wya he looks at me. Its like "Daddy come feed me, I'm hungry" I don't see why he would wake me up to eat when his food is right there next to his water. The most effective way I got Sebastian to eat his food continuously is by either hand feeding him his kibbles or putting the kibbles on my futon couch. He loves to eat his treats, his food and chew on his toys on the couch. Twist in all this is when Sebastian goes by my girlfriends house to play with his brother, who is a maltese, he eats out of food bowl and there is never an issue. The food is the same in both locations. I can't figure it out Does anyone experienced this with there Yorky and does anyone have any suggestions on how to get my lil caboose to eat from his bowl? |
aweee "little caboose" thats cute!! wish i could help, but Wookie ate from the bowl since the first day i had him. |
He has you trained, sweetie :) I don't really have any suggestions other than stop hand feeding him and eventually he will eat from the bowl. They will not starve themselves. Good luck. |
I agree. Just leave the food in the bowl. He'll eat it eventually. |
When we first got Annie we had a hard time getting her to eat too! So I resorted to the same method! Hand feeding... So now she will only eatif I give it to her by hand or if I bring it up my bed or the sofa and lay it out for her... So I know how you feel! She is a little over a year... And I wait to feed her until 8-9 at nite for dinner... Sometime at 6-7 she gets a little hungry and will eat a little out of the bowl by herself... But neer enough... So we eat the rest later on! :D Yeah she is my spoiled little girl... But that is the only way I can make sure she is eating  I know how you feel... People say tough love... But I figure at night time I do have a little time on my hands, so I don't mind right now... When the time comes, I suppose the tough love will have to come :D |
Hehehe he does have you trained and yep, he is spoiled. There's nothing wrong with spoiling your baby though! |
PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ, you have just stumbled across owners of some of the most spoiled pets ever :) I have hand fed my 5 month old pup and still do sometimes but if you just leave them be near the bowl, he will learn to eat on his own. Welcome to YT and please share pics. |
Went though the same thing with Maggie. She was such a picky eater when she was little that I hand fed her. Then it got to where I would scatter her kibbles on the den carpet. It was like "Hide and Seek The Kibble" game. She didn't want to eat out of a bowl, so I put her food in a lower side bowl, like a ice cream dish. Nope, she didn't like that either. So, I tried a small desert dish you would serve pie on. Yep, that worked. The only problem with that, is that she roots the kibbles off the plate. At least she is now eating off of dishes and not the floor. |
