when can I give a bath Lizzy had 4 teeth pulled and she was spayed yesterday and when we brought her home she smelled really bad and then last night she had diarehha and now she smells even worse. ...when will I be able to give her a bath...vet isn't in today.... |
If she has stitches from the spaying, I wouldn't bath her 'till after they are out. Too much risk of infection. You could try using the bath wipes. That might help, just be very careful around the stitches. The poor baby, I hope she is feeling better soon. ((hugs)) |
you have to wait at least 10 days..they prefer 2 weeks..that's how long we watied! |
Awww, poor baby:( And your poor nose:laugh: Does she have stitches or staples? If so, then you have to wait until 48 hours or so after they are removed (they leave tiny microscopic holes when removed so they need to close up) If they used surgical glue, you can bathe her now, just don't scrub that area or let it soak in the water. You may want to wait a day or so anyway, just because she's probably very sore and tender and I'm sure getting washed would just make her feel worse. Baby wipes to the rescue:thumbup: :) |
I just had mine spayed a month ago..they told me to wait until she got her stitches out.. you can use the little wipes on her if she stinks.. |
you should wait the 10-14 days until her stitches come out. you don't want to risk infection or the incision opening. use baby wipes and dry shampoo. |
actually they usually give them a bath the next day before they go home |

I would most definately wait til after suture or staple removal. If there are no sutures or staples, I would still wait 10-14 days. It isn't worth the risk. |

My Daisy had a spay thru her belly button and hoohaw (laparoscopic spay ) And a day or 2 later she stunk REALLY bad, come to find out she has pus coming outta her hoohaw and got really sick. She had to be put on stong antibiotics and given 2 extra heaps of TLC. So my point is, if she is really stinky I would take her back, maybe somehting is not right. |
