please, answer needed asap Lily got Lp surgery on mon. she just went to the potty and peed on her soft bandage. One vet says bring her in asap one says wait till tomorrow can someone please help me make the right decision. |
I would go with the advice of the vet I trust more. If you trust both of them, take her tonight. |
Since it is it a soft bandage, I'd take a look at it and change it myself. Don't be afraid, you will be surprised how much it probably healed. Make sure to wrap it the same way they had it (as long as she isn't limping or showing any signs of distress from the surgery). |

If the urine soaked thru it can cause infection etc. Then you can get a good nights sleep know you have already dealt with it. Good luck with your Lily Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |
Well, I keep rethinking this. That is why I edited so many times in my previous post. I live almost an hour's drive from my vet. If you live close to yours, I'd definitely take her. My Mom's girl had LP surgery recently (injury from jumping). It was surprising how quickly she healed. Her problem was licking the area. Do what your gut tells you to do. Either way, I'm sure you will take good care of her:) |
If it was me, I'd take her in. Different situation...but we had a cat when I was a little kid that was declawed and his bandages got wet...he ended up having some damage to his feet. I highly doubt anything that serious would happen if you waited, but wet bandages are never a good thing. |
