why is she tearing her pad up? My Buttons was doing well with me leaving her everyday while I went to work. She didnt mess up anything in her xpen and did fine. NOW she is getting where she is ripping her pee pad up. Do you think this is seperation anxiety? Any suggestions? |
My boys tore the disposable one up, too. Changed to cloth ones. No problem now. Joanne :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :dog: |
cloth ones? Where did you get them? |

Same here, cloth are not an issue though. There are some people on here that sell them. I bought mine at http://www.personallypaws.com/catalog/ I bought a set of 12 and they have been more then enough |
my baby did that in his xpen when he was a puppy. IMO it's frustration/boredom more than anxiety. make sure you drain her energy before you leave her. now my baby is 1.5yo and he hasn't done that in ages. Good luck! :) |
why is she tearing her pad up She is bored and mad at you. Tricksie did for a while but does not anymore. I have the washable pee pads but I don't find that they work for me, I want to wash them every time she pees on them and when she poops, it covers 3 different areas. I just use them for a base and put the disposable ones on top. The ones I have can be washed about 100 times. Is your baby crated? Tricksie is only when I leave for a couple of hours. |
Bought mine from the same member as oppsmyhallofello. They are very good quality and wash well. Joanne :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :dog: |
the pad holders doesn't work..my dh told my son(when theres was chewing up pee pads) to leave a radio on, and that is what did the trick..his pads were in the holder, and it's not that he was chewing them up, he was scratching them up..but, since the radio, no messed up pads..give that a shot.. |
cloth ones? Where did you get them? |
Yes, it is fun for them. |
Yeah I leave the radio on. Come to think of it it may have started when I changed the radio station from soft rock to country. LOL, so you dont think the pad holders work? Quote:

No, they can still scratch at them, and even though, I would give the cloth ones a shot, hubby said NO, he didn't want those in the washer where his clothes go... ..anyway, maybe it is the music..I know Teddy is just 6 1/2 mos. and he was going through the expensive pee pads like there was no tomorrow..once they put the music on that helped out..I'm sure they just get lonely..I Know my sister leaves the tv on for her dogs all day.. |
My henry does the same thing sometimes lol likes to chew on the corners, he hasn't done it much last 2 days or so, so I have no idea. He somehow figured it out on his own, or he realized it didn't taste as nice as he thought it might have lol |
Dont you know how much fun it is to shred that pee pad? LOL My Nikki is 12 years old and just the other night I caught her pulling tissues out of the tissue box and shreding them. Its just great fun lol |
