Sams Lipstick please need answers Ok first let me start by saying i know this might be a silly question to some but i have never owned a little boy at this age before the only other little boy i had was already older when i got him. Ok as many of you know Sam is going around humping everything in sight which i figured was just normal because my famale min pin does it to but i looked just a second ago and his lipstick was hanging way out  It went back in withing seconds though. He will be 20 weeks old this Friday is it normal for that to happen at such a young age? Am i just freaking out over nothing? |
yes, i think it's normal. but you have to discourage him from humping because the lipstick can get stuck in the out position if he humps too long. it can be really painful for the little guy! |
Thank Heavens For Lil Girls..lol:d |
Yes it is normal |
It is normal but....definitely try to keep him from "humping" things...I know Mojo use to do this..even at 3 and 4 years old....He rubbed a raw spot on his wee-wee and it bleed for so long...it was horrible. The vet said that if it gets "stuck" out (Mojo's would hang to the floor) That it can cause serious damage! We had him nuetered last year and haven't had a problem since! |

You can also try a bellyband on him too...that might help control the "urge". I never thought about it causing harm..until the one day he started bleeding from his wee-wee....that is when the vet pulled out his wee-wee and he had a huge sore spot on the side of it and we had to keep meds on it for awhile. That is when she told me that if it hanging out...sometimes he will be hard for a long time and that will cause nerve damage amoung other problems! These poor boys! |

Regarding bellybands...you can check the for sale section on here or the featured sellers section...and click on their website link in their signature. I have heard where some people have used baby diapers...the disposable kind..just put in it side ways (around the wee-wee, waist where the open part is on the back). I have never tried this though. Other people have said they use a bandana (folded up long ways and skinny) and use a maxi pad inside it and then pin it or tie it on the top of the back. Petedge.com had some and I am sure PetsMart, Petco and Wal-Mart does too. I know a local vet supply store carried some awhile back. Cindy (chattiesmom) made some really nice silk ones at one time...she may still be making them. |
