should i be worried? i called my breeder when my pup was 10.5 wks. old, she told me she weighed 2# 8oz i took her to the vet when she was 12 weeks old and she weight 2# 4 oz. we have had her 4 days. the vet said she was doing good, she is eating, playing, peeing, and pooping ok. could she have lost 4 oz after we got her???? i know she is running around alot more than she was at the breeders. my husband says not to be worried, that the breeders scales was probably off. her little belly is nice and fat, she was wormed just before we got her. thanks deeahanna |
She may just be adjusting to her new home. If the Vet checked her and pronounced her healthy, I wouldn't worry too much. Welcome to YT! |
I'm sure she is just adjusting or the scales are a little off. Make sure she is taking naps and eating well. |
Like everyone else has said it sounds like she is getting adjusted to her new home I wouldn't worry if the vet said she is healthy! Just make sure she is eating enough and drinking water. If she isn't then thats when I would start to worry. Congrats on the new baby and welcome to YT, we need pics!!! :) |
4oz is nothing, it can be the difference between a full belly and bladder and an empty one. not to worry and congrats! |
same thing happened to me... I was told my girls were 4lbs when i got them home and to the vet (the next day) they were both just over 2lbs:( they were very very thin:( your baby is just adjusting, its normal:D |
Scrappy didn't gain any weight in about a week and a half between picking him up and taking him to the vet. He was eating/drinking peeing/pooping just fine - and the vet said he was awesome. I'm not worried as long as he is happy and healthy! |
if she is healthy don't worry. My puppies always weigh more here at my house than when i take them to the vet because my scales are about three oz. off. |
I agree with hubby, I would think there is a difference in the scales |
You must also remember that no 2 scales will weigh your pup the same. Its not a big loss. Just make sure you weigh her on the same scale each time your in the vets or at home.. |
I think your baby is just fine. I'm so glad you decided to join us. |
