Seperation Anxiety My Eddie Is ....any Help |
Is Eddie in a crate or enclosure when you leave? Wrigley has it too. Depending on how long we are gone, we leave music or the tv on for her. She has gotten better, she used to dig at the drywall, window sills, etc.. We did keep her in a playpen until recently, we are testing having her out where she can lay with Crosley ( our yorkie poo ). I don't know how old Eddie is, but I know they tend to feel safer in enclosed spaces. I think it makes them less anxious. Good luck!! |

i dont know if its anxiety, but ziggy when i get home goes crazy to see me. just nutz. he just misses me |
Diesel has it really bad as well. Even if my husband is at home with him he will pout and sulk and will refuse to eat until I come home. I was gone for 2 days once on a trip with my daughter and he went crazy. My husband tried everything to get him to eat. He gave him soft dog food and even gave him some babyfood. He wouldn't touch anything untill I came home. He kept kayro syrup in his water just to keep his sugar from getting to low. When I got home he went crazy! Then he dove into his food. I would love to know how to break him of it but I don't see how I can. |
Rudy had that also. I tried a lot of things that I thought would help, including getting that thing you plug in that is supposted to help with seperation anxiety. It didn't work either. We adopted a rescue Shih Tzu a year ago and now when we leave to go to work, they are both in their crates side by side and not a peep out of Rudy. He knows he has Lucky beside him now. I don't know if that's an option for you or not, getting another dog. This is just what I found helped with that. "Good Luck" to you and Eddie. :) :aimeeyork |

Try this I have two Yorkies and a Westie. The yorkies act awful when I leave, the Westie just sleeps. Anyhow, my husband has been left with them and they won't eat, sleep or anything until I get back. They pace the floor, run to the doors etc. My little Rowdy is the worst. He is 11 months and very attached to me. Here is what has helped mine with the Sep. anxiety. When you are home, go outside several times a day and don't invite the pups. Tell them to stay and that you will be back. Wait awhile and then go back in. Do this several times letting them know that you will come back. Always tell them to stay and reassure them. When you come back and they are wild and crazy to see you, don't make a big deal, let them calm down. Hope this works for you, anything is worth a try right?:thumbup: |
