PLEASE Help! We have a major bitting problem. Rocco is suddenly biting everyone in my house EXCEPT me. I mean no kidding my 2 year old was walking across the floor the other day and bent over to pick up a toy and Rocco comes out of nowhere and bit him on the butt. He bit so hard it broke the skin. Then my husband was walking into the kitchen and Rocco ran up and bit the end of his finger. What is up with this? Does anyone else have this problem? What should I do about it? Poor Rocco, everyone in my house is mad at him. |
I have no idea. I hope that you find the answer soon. |
Oh boy sounds like Rocco is just doing the puppy play thing. Your going to have to work with him. Sometime they nip to get you to play with them. Unfortunately, their teeth are razor sharp right now. Use the spray bottle, or maybe the pennies in a can thing. Definitely tell him no and redirct his nipping attention to a toy or something. |

I'm so sorry that you are going through that. My Ziggy went through a phase where he was nipping at my daughter's ankles and growling at her if she came near; he actually bit her a few times. I told her that she was going to have to stand up to him and be dominant because he didn't respect her-she was letting him get away with everything! Now she speaks very firmly to him when he is naughty and she doesn't give in until he hangs his head and apologizes (licks her hand). Its hilarious listening to her order him "Apologize" but it has worked. This may be helpful for your husband but you'll have to speak for and protect your child. How old is Rocco? Ziggy's behaviour peaked at 10-11 months. Good luck! |

1 of my girls does that to my son, we are working on it http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=114990 |
If you play with my dog and walk away she will bite you on the ankles. Has your family been playing with Rocco a lot lately? How old is he? If he keeps doing it figure out a small punishment and tell him that he shouldn't bite. Like get a spray bottle and tell him no. |
