Tip of Ear Flipped backwards oppose to forward Has anyone ever heard of a yorkshire terrier's ear (only the tip) flipping backwards? The other ear is flipped down forward. Could her ear cartilage be broken or damaged? Just curius if anyone knows anything about this. Is it normal to flip backwards Thanks |
I have never had one with ears tipping backward but I have some that have their ears tipping forward. Puppy's have fragile cartilage in their ears that can break down. This could be caused by him scratching at his ears, playfighting with another dog, or from you petting his ears. Often when people try to tape the ears too early they end up doing more harm than good. How old is your puppy? Usually, if the ears are not up by 6 months they will not come up. I recommending taping ears if they are not up by 4 months of age. I had a girl who had one ear tipping and hers came up on her own at 6 month of age. Some people like the floppy look. You have to make sure you keep the hair trimmed on the ear when they are puppies. |
ears Sometimes, the ears will curl backward a bit...it will straighten out soon... |
When we were going to visit Blaze at the breeders his brothers ears had flipped backwards at the tip. It was kind of strange to see. He is completely fine now and you would never know! |
My little Raziel is 5 months old and the tip of her right ear tips backward as well. I've kept it taped for weeks, but soon as I take the tape off, it goes backwards again. I'm wondering now if it's going to just stay like that. |
when max was about 4 months his ear tipped back...now its floppy, I know ears up are what is desired but I think its the cutest thing ever:D |

She is 11 weeks old. I am just worried that it may be broken or something. I do not know. |

At 11 weeks I would hold off and wait a little and see if it fixes itself. |
