You don't have to appologize for feeling bad for your baby. I think we all do and if we all could, I think that we would be home with them all day, or at least bring them with us to work if we could, but in the real world that isn't possible. I leave my baby home alone from 8-5pm mon-fri, as do many people. He is in the laundry room with paper down, his bed, food & water, a radio and lots of toys. In the begining he wasn't used to it, but he is now. It only took about a week for him to understand the routine. Anyway, if you really feel better having someone check up on them for a few minutes during the day I agree that about $20-25 per week would be sufficient. Seeing as they are only there for about 15 minutes at a time, that is a good deal I think. Some people might even do it for free, just to be with the cutiepie! :aimeeyork |

You have a "whole" family by the sounds of it, your Mom checks on her twice a day, your cousin is also checking on her. It sounds like you are taking very good care of your baby! I sometimes feel bad, knowing Macy is left home alone at night when we run somewhere but then I think it is better for her to be home in here crate than sitting in a hot car while we are shopping! As long as she gets lots of attention and exercise when your home than don't worry. Hey I was raised my a single Mom working 2 jobs and I think I turned out pretty darn good. Your baby will be just fine, don't feel bad because your single, heck that just gives you more alone time with her! |
My 2 Cents :D I think it's fine to pay your cousin 25 bucks a week. That seems fair. I also think that it's not too much time to leave your pup alone. As long as they have enough room to move (a crate or x-pen), some food and water and a couple of chew toys I think puppy will be fine. When I leave Chewy I also leave the TV on to either Animal Planet or Cartoon Network and even though it's silly and people make fun of me, I call on the phone and leave messages. This is just like being a parent and my philosophy about my own parenting and the thing I say to other mom's (about our skinkids!!) is simply, don't beat yourself up. Same rules apply ;) |

Is Lexi using the pads? And, not playing and ripping them to shreds? If she is, a puppy her age can go about 4 hours without pottying. I'd base my schedule on that, if needed. Have you puppy proofed the area? If mine get bored they will chew (puppies do that anyway), including the electric wire of the lamp. Just to keep me from worrying I think I'd be glad to pay someone $25 a week to check on her. |
