Lots & lots of biting! Ok, these past couple of days my sweet little Deegan has tunred into a biting maniac! He used to be content chewing on his toys 'n stuff, but now he has moved onto us! Our ankles, our feet, our hands and fingers. Anything he can sink his teeth into. I'm hoping that this is just a phase because he's teething, but how should I go about correcting him? I try to say "no" in a stern voice, but that doesn't work, so then I might hold his muzzle for a second and say "no" again, but sometimes that doesn't work either so then I am forced to give him a time out by putting him down or in his pen. What do you think of my approach, and do you have any other suggestions? |
My Coco used to do that until BITTER APPLE..hehe.. It's this spray that tastes really bitter. Essentially you are supposed to put it all over your feet/hands/anything you don't want them chewing. But when she bit me, or chewed, I would put a drop or two of it, on her tongue. Let me tell you, 2 times was all it took. Now when she's about to chew, I just show her the bottle and she starts licking me like she didn't even have biting in mind. You can get it at any petstore, target, walmart, ect. |
Maximus like the bitter apple..THE FREAK THAT HE IS...lol, so what we did also was when he bit say OUCH! and ignore him for 30 second..do this repeatedly till he get sthe idea..in their litter if they bit the others wouldn't play with them and that would teach them the "correct" behavior..it really works!! |
