Ok Need Help ...i Am A Little Freaked Out! Very Wierd!!!! Ok ...let Me Start By Saying That My Yorkie Is A Year And A Half Old ...and Gets A Bath About Every Second Week Or So ...she Has Gotten One Since We First Got Her. Ok So I Was Going To Give Her A Bath Like Usual ...and I Go Through Pretty Much The Exact Routine Everytime...i Put Her In The Tub...and Then I Turn The Water On...adjust It Threw The Shower Hose......untill Its Ready ..etc...nothing Different...she Normally Sits Around...calmly Waits..or Will Like Up Any Sprays Of Water Etc....except For Tonight. Out Of Know Where She Just Was Looking At Me And Starts To Yelp A Scary Like Cry ....and Start Panicking To Jump Out Of The Tub.....out Of Nowhere...i Never Ever Seen Her Look So Distraught......i Never Heard Her Make Those Noises. So I Let Her Out...and She Runs...so Fast Slipping And Sliding And Ran To The Furthest Part Of The House And Starting Scratching At The Walls To Get Out....i Never Ever Seen This Behaviour....she Kept Scratching At Yelping A Scary Yelp...then She Ran Around The Couch Hid...then When I Went To See Her ..she Would Look Behind Herself And Run To The Walls And Scratch At Them Looking Back Trying To Get Away From Something...i Have No Clue What Is Going On...really Worried....someone Tell Me What Is Going On..she Is Still Shaking As I Write This! :( |
Was the water to hot???? |
Uhmmm...could she have a "dingleberry" aka...a klingon? Gizmo will do that when he has one. You might look for stickers or things stuck in her fur. Sorry! I hope it's an easy solution. |
Well I Havent Even Gotten A Chance To Put The Water Near Her....or Even Touch Her To Wash Her..i Just Was Adjusting The Water Which Goes No Where Near Her.......serioussly It Was Creepy And Wierd...she Looked Possessed...as Crazy As That Sounds Lol....she L |
If Anyone Has Ever Experienced Any Behavior Like This Please Fill Me In On What The Heck Is Going On |
If she has a dingleberry (pooh stuck in the fur close to her bottom) It can pull and hurt and freak her out in exactly the way you are describing. Every time she moves, it hurts and that will scare her more and cause her to panic. Did you have a chance to check her little bottom for anything stuck there? |
Nope Nothing On Her....she Is Completely Shaved...and There Was Nothing On Her Little Bottom...i Checked..but She Wasnt Reacting Like Anything Was On Her...she Was Scared And Kept Looking Back And Yelping And Trying To Climb The Walls....i Know This Whole Thing Sounds Crazy..lol I Thought It Was Crazy Thats Why I Came Straight Here To Ask You Guys What You Think |
Oh wow! I have no clue then. Hopefully, someone else has an idea. Is she any calmer now? |
umm she is not shaking as much ..but she is just sitting starring at that darn wall and looks so paranoid....i dont know why she is being so wierd.....its really causing me to freak out a bit lol...cause i have no clue what is going on...man this better not keep up all night! |
That is strange, I hope someone can give you some advice on what it could be. |
yea it is strange......well its prolly something no one could figure out anyways! ...but thanks to those who responded :) i appreciate it...its nice to know you guys will help out...no matter how crazy the situation :p ...and this really falls under that category..lol |
sometimes Lizzie will start crying and shaking...then she runs to her naughty step for no reason but i think I have figured it out....I think she passes some gas and she think that she is pooping and will get in trouble....she did this yesterday and she had a real gassie day.....so maybe that is it....maybe sound of the water made her go potty alittle bit and she was scared...I hope you figure it out...good luck.. |
hmmm that is interesting..i wish thats what is was..but there was no poop no pee she the tub was dry ..and clean....but thankyou alot for the help :) |
Don't want to freak you out but maybe she saw a ghost. lol I don't know what else it could have been. That's very strange. |
I have no idea what would cause it either but hope she is okay and you get it figured out. |
k that ghost comment just scarred the crap out of me!!! |

Crazy enough but i was thinking the same thing i have heard of that before.. try looking it up online this sort of thing |
Thinking the same thing!! |
I've never heard of them acting like that when they supposedly see a ghost, have seen dogs following things with their eyes before when no one else has been in the room..not here, but at Moms.. |
I hope you have a better night with Fergie! Sorry you had such a scare. I wish I could offer some advise but sadly I am clueless! |
see i thought the same that if the do see "a ghost" that they follow things around...and seem playfull to something that isnt around. ....this seemed more mental than anything...it was wierd..i thought she was going crazy..... |
We call my daughter's dog Spike the dog ghost whisperer because a few times he has freaked out and barked at nothing. One time my daughter tried to take a picture with her phone of the spot that seemed to be upsetting him and it wouldn't take a picture. She turned the phone to a different area of her room and took a picture- then back to where he was barking and... nothing. I hope Fergie is settling down. That would scare me too! |
I would also say ghost, or something hurt her. Other than that idk sorry |
Awwww poor baby, I hope she is calmed down now, and I hope what ever she saw/felt/thought (whatever freaked her out) doesn't turn her off from bathtime now. |
My mother had a pekignese that would do the very same thing.. My mother honestly thinks tot his day that "DD" Daddys Darlin was her name was definitely seeing a ghost, spirit, of sorts... It would scare DD real bad and My mom would then get scared... I am not trying to scare you at all.. I am just saying watch the signs of behavior. It is definitely something.... The only other scenario would be she remembers the last time you gave her a bath and she associates getting one again and then she got skittish and it scared her and then things escalated kinda like when your dog is happy she is running and playing then she gets faster and runs in circles in and out of stuff constantly non stop and it is hilarious to watch well THINGS ESCALATED so watch the signs and I will ask my mom more in depth questions... But I have seen DD do it one time she was on the bed and she barked the bed post down clawing and yelping and when I would go to get her she was stiff.... Right after that my mom shared with me that DD has seizures... SO WATCH HER CLOSELY i am not trying to scare you this is OUR STORY not yours so dont panic.. Just observe your baby... If it keeps going on call your vet and then another thing I would do is REPEAT THE EXACT STEPS of giving her a bath like you did and see if she does it again IF SHE DOESNTTHEN YOU CAN RULE OUT HER BEING SCARED OF TAKING A BATH and then you can watch for other signs!!! |
thanks for all the responses...i am happy to say that she seems like her normal self again today! I am happy....just hoping nothing like that happens again ..cause it was seriously ...the scariest thing ive been through with her.:( |
