Help...I don't know what to do anymore... My puppy is 7 months old tomorrow. He has stopped nipping our hands so much since he got neutered, however he LOVES to nip at our feet or go after our toes when we take our shoes off...not aggressively but in a playful manner. We have tried everything including saying "no" very sternly but that just seems to make him get more worked up thinking we are playing. He has gotten me a few times and pinches with his new big boy front teeth and it HURTS! My husband is diabetic and I worry about him breaking his skin and it getting infected. We love this little guy so much and I don't like having to scold him so much...I want to know if anyone has any other ideas for me. My husband said someone told him to spray a little bit of bitter apple in his mouth and say No Bite...but I wanted your opinions....NOTHING seems to be helping...even time outs in his pen. Christa |
Lily did this and we got that compressed air in a can, the kind you use to blow dust out of you key board when lily would go at our feet we would give her a little spritz with the air can and in 1 week no more problem. |
We put bitter apple on our feet and after a couple times of tasting it he didnt bite our feet anymore |
try taking a heavy duty metal pan and metal spoon and when he does this, bang the spoon to the pan and say "NO" this should scare the be-je-bee's out of him LOL It worked for me and my gang! |
If the bitter apple or air doesnt work then consider pinning him everytime he does is and mustering a deep voice saying NOOOOO! and hold him there for about 30 seconds. He will calm down pretty quickly. |
Perhaps try loudly shaking pennies in a can. They usually don't like the sound. |
