Is is normal for female dogs to leak urine? I have 3 small dogs, a yorkie, a mix, and a Maltese...the Yorkie is spayed , the other two are not. I know I am a bad dog owner, but I got them later and they are always inside dogs so i just have not had them fixed. Now they are older and one has a collapsed trachea and Im not sure surgery would be safe. Im not sure if that is relevant to my question but I thought if might be helpful. I bought a brand new set of furniture which is only 2 years old and is already ruined by my dogs. (I think) I deliberately bought the furniture in a darker color and a more rustic style than I like because I figured it would wear better with 3 dogs and one teenager. The furniture is dark blue and I think it is a cotton fabric which I thought was good because it was washable. It also had stain reisistance put on it. Shortly after I got it, I noticed that there were little white dots on certain parts of the furniture. Whatever these spots were, they would not come off with anything...they didnt even fade...it was like they were part of the fabric. I did call the company and they replaced the covers, though they had no idea what it was either. My dogs always lay on the area where the most spots were, but there were spots in other places also where the dogs dont routinely go. Someone suggested then that it might be from the dogs, but they werent sure. Now two years later, the furniture is covered with these spots. the spots have no odor and as I said they are white on the dark blue furniture. So...do dogs leak urine and does it sound like that is what it is, or are there other things you can think of. I love my dogs but I hate what they have done to my house. If I ever get new furniture, they will not be allowed on it. I know they cant help it, but its still disgusting. |
are the dots consistent in size or are they different sizes all together. could be from the scotchguard or whatever they use. say if your dogs nails rough up the coating. |
They are mostly about the same size, not exactly, but close. I wonder why the sofa guy didnt know about that possibility though with the nails scratching. Does that mean dogs dont normally leak? |
i dont maybe someone else will. i woould htink with the scotch guard it would wipe off |
If a female is actually leaking urine, she needs to see a vet. |
Plus if it was the dog leaking you could smell it. You should notice that on floors and other places the dogs are if that was the case. |
That definitely doesn't sound like urine..... |
Could it be other body fluids? As I said it is mostly right where they lay. There are none on parts of the couch they dont touch, like the back and sides. |
Supposedly dried blood can look light on a dark background... It might be from them going into heat. |
Sadie doesn't leak, and she is only a puppy... I do wipe both my babies because when they go they are wet there. I guess if you didn't wipe them they may drip a bit??? I doesn't sound like pee to me. Why would it be white? And it would really smell after a while. Could it be drool? that might be white when it dried. It might not have to bad an oder. I would put a blanket down for them to lay on. :D |
My baby Chiquita may she R.I.P started leaking urine after she was spayed (it smelled bad) she was about 3 years old at the time and the doc gave me pills to give her daily for incontinence but what is going on with yours doesn't sound like urine to me  |
maybe post a picture of the spots so that we could see? |
What chemicals are you using to clean the fabric? |
