Does your puppy destroy all his toys? I have a feeling I am going to be spending a bit of money on toys for this little guy. He just ripped the tail off his first squeaky toy that he loves so much. I had to take it away as I think he will be able to swallow something. Luckily I caught him while he was trying to swallow the tail. He is now doing a number on the teddy's nose and has worked over his chewable keys quite nicely. Not to mention my usb cable that he got ahold of this morning. This guy has better teeth than me. |
awww that is too funny and cute...u can always buy pull toys i think they are harder to ripe i dont know about this due to the fact so far so good with martini...she has strong teeth and a great grip but thank god no toys are torn just her wee wee pad when she is home alone for too long...what a stinker |
We had the same problem, our baby is no longer allowed to spend much time with 'furry' toy babies, because she pulls all the fuzzy bits out! Same as she did to our carpet for a bit...we get her the harder toys now with bells or squeakys in them. Any time we give her something soft with fuzzy in it, she either makes a small hole and pulls the insides out or just sits there and tugs on the soft part outside until all the thread comes out. Although we did get her one of those ropes with the knotted ends, but we had to cut off the strings hanging off the ends really close to the knots because I kept seeing multicolored rope threads in her..well, you know! Good luck, hope this helps! |
my babys destroy all there toys i use to sew them up but i dont anymore i just buy them new ones. |
ah yup! close your closet doors with all your shoes safely inside!!! HAHA I lost about 15 pairs of shoes to my 2 boys before I remembered to shut the closet door! :) |
Dior seeks and destroys. |
My babies do that too. I sow some of them but what I do is I pile them up. Just this past month I bought a lot of the christmas toys that were 75% off at petsmarts and petco and kept them in a closet until the ones they have are no longer in good shape. So that way I got a lot of toys for $1 to $1.99 instead of $6.99 and up. They don't know is no longer christmas and they constantly have new toys so they don't get bored. |
I found out recently that when I give him a sharp NO on something he's showing interest in he learns that its not his and doesn't bother it again. Hopefully he remembers everything. I just NO'd the toilet paper. I hope he doesn't get into that habit. My cat use to unroll every roll of toilet paper in every bathroom in the house. He also ripped every square in the process. |
Bella holds the record for destroying toys. She can demolish a stuffed toy in about 20 minutes of getting it... no joke. We have found that the thick rope toys that are a little to big for her work best. She can't get her mouth all the way around because they're too big, so she has to systematically pull them apart thread by thread. They last a little longer. But try going on QVC.com and search for "industructable dog toys". My mom bought a few on there for Bella and they have lasted a lot longer. They are starting to be demolished as well, but she's had them for over a month surprisingly! |
Here's a link to the indestructable dog toys! http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail A little expensive, but worth it, since you don't have to buy new ones ALL the time!! Oops, sorry that link doesn't work. Do a search for product # M15739. |
My Marcel has chewed holes in the heads of TWO of his, ahem, "lover" dogs. |
Oh yes! Most of them do! My puppies are 3 months old now and we've already been through the original toys I bought them plus some of the replacement toys! I would forget stuffed animals all together since they can rip through them so fast, and they usually have eyes or noses that will disappear fast. If you want something that will take a LONG time to destroy (if they can destroy it at all) I recommend the Puppy Kong Toys. They are very sturdy, and good for teething babies. You can also hide treats in them, and mine just love them! |
Neither one of my dogs rip their toys. I have tons I have bought from second hand stores and dog stores... they love them. The only problem I had was Chewy used to go for the eyes on stuffed animals and I would have to throw them away. Now I only by the ones with embroidered eyes and theres no problem. I still have a few of his toys I bought when we first brought him home He is one and a half years old! |
my furbabys go for the ears and the tails. |
Does your puppy destroy all of his toys YES YES, Kong's, hide a squirrel, everlasting treat ball except for the big green one, can't remember what it is called. Ordered industructable toys on line, she got rid of them in 10 min. You can't believe the stuff I have found in her poop. I am letting her play with 100% cotton socks tied in knots. Will check out the ones on QVC. I do keep my shoes in the closet   |
