Just found this on the Des Moines Register website: The Iowa Department of Transportation closed U.S. Highway 34 this morning between Albia and Ottumwa. Officials said traffic is prohibited from the area near Wal-Mart in Ottumwa to the junction of U.S. 34 and Iowa 5 in Albia. Numerous traffic accidents in the area have hindered plowing operations. "The closure is necessary to allow snowplows to bring the roadway to a passable condition," authorities said in a press release shortly before 10:30 a.m. today. |
Oh gosh, thats my boys too! HAHAHA Just go right outside the doorway where the snow didnt pile up against the house! I did my best to try to shovel all the back log of snow this past weekend but my shovel broke and the snow is now just straight ice... coudldnt budge it! aaahhh 10 more inches tonight! :( :( :( |

My dogs are the same way, they just do their business right by the door when we have this much snow:D I don't think we got as much here by Ames as further south, looks like maybe 6 or 7 in. of new stuff. |

thank you for your info! |
Yep, I'm snowed in, and I've already had to shovel twice for Georgia to go out. I probably shoveled 6 inches at 6:00, and another 6 inches in the same spot at 11. So we've probably gotten somewhere around 12 I'm guessing. Georgia would probably just go bounding in the snow if I'd let her though! |
OMG that cracks me up! Atleast he did it outside!!! I shovel for Rocky a small area in the driveway (the snows to heavy for me to shovel more then 3 scoops:p ) so he poops, wipes his feet, then starts walking into the rest of the snow! |
Lol I am in the same situation here dealing with a huge snowfall. My Pom went bounding out into it with no fear (must be his sled dog ancestry). CoCo flew down our home made ramp, took a pee, flew back up and pooped right outside the door. What a cutie! |
:D :D Don't eat Yellow (Porch) Snow!!!!! :D :D ......... I would have loved to seen a pic of that!!!......... |
Gotta appreciate a man with a plan... even more so if he's got to worry about his bits getting caught in a drift! Some very funny imagery floating around here. :D |
There's been some funny pictures invading my brain from some of these posts. Got up at 5:00 and broomed (huge broom) some snow away from porch so Yorkies could do their business. All three wouldn't go farther than the steps. The pommie bounced around in the snow even though it was deeper than his tummy. Actually it was hard to see him out there since he is a white pommie.:) Later, so not to wake the neighbors, DH used his boy-toy (loader) to clean off a large area for the furbabies. (We live on a 3-lot yard.) Got to spend the day with my babies since school was called off.:D Actually, the roads that have been scraped are fairly clear by now, even at 24 degrees. Think we got around 8-10 inches. I'm getting tired of snow. What has happened to global warming? Joanne :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :dog: |
Too cute, I love this post. My kassie does the same thing when it snows only she squats in front of the door so you cant close it then runs right back in. We have a big yellow spot on our front porch , I call it my yorkie welcome mat. |
